Top raver, booth infiltrator and our very own AM to PM girl, Lissy Lübeck is back on Ibiza for summer 2024, which means another weekly serving of misadventures in clubland. Here, Lissy shares her thoughts, experiences and inner musings direct from the dancefloor.
A year older, perhaps. But a year wiser? Nah.
If you heard it from anybody else, you'd dismiss it as hyperbole, but Lissy Lü's real life is like that... Partying as a profession is a hard life, but somebody's got to do it!
The busiest week of summer
1 to 4 August
Thursday
Tonight marked two nights in a row at Pikes! It's not unheard of...
"I'm only staying for one drink"... yeah, we've all heard that one before. It was Neil Evans' birthday. The funnyman, head booker at Amnesia and dear friend turned 45 - and he's still capable of out partying me!
You never know who you're going to meet on the island...
Tonight, I got my networking game on with some big promoters from FUSE London and Eden. Outside of industry chats, Room 27 witnessed lots of deep and drunken chats. Before we knew it, 05:00 had rolled around. Time for bed.
Friday
Following a trip to Ibiza Town for a spot of shopping and lunch at Passion, it was a quick turnaround before heading to 528 Ibiza for BBC Radio 1's annual Ibiza weekender.
Industry faces all over the shop, I got to catch up with some old pals and made some new ones throughout the day. A highlight for me was brother-sister duo Shermanology on the Grand Park Stage. Playing all of their boppers, they really took the crowd to a new level.
The party didn’t stop at the midnight curfew, however.
Somehow, we ended up at Pikes yet again! Shocking. Staying until close, we had lots of laughs and chats around various crevices of the hotel. Then at 04:00, we decided to head to Eden to catch Hannah Laing and the Murphy's Law boys. What a night.
Saturday
After a day recovering from the madness last night, I headed to Cala Conta for a friend's birthday at Sunset Ashram. When we arrived, the DJ was already playing some incredible Latin House music whilst beachgoers and dressed-up dining groups gathered to enjoy the sunset.
It was my first time watching the sun go down here and it was really quite something. The orangey hues encompassed the whole restaurant. Golden hour was picture perfect.
Sunday
Supposedly a day of much-needed zen, Sunday soon turned lively. A group of friends from back home had flown out for a wedding party on Sunday morning.
We rented out two beds at Nassau Beach Club for the day, where we sipped on Bloody Marys, ate sushi and dipped in the sea. Though everyone else was getting drunk, I decided to be sensible for once.
Later, I walked 30 seconds across the sands to Beachouse, where I met my two best mates from home, Phoebe and Sophie. They had landed earlier today, so I decided dinner for Arkadyan present Voyage would be a great intro to their holiday.
Beach of the week
Not necessarily one of Ibiza's prettier beaches, but what Playa d'en Bossa beach lacks compared to other stretches of sand, it more than makes up for in functionality and convenience.
Whether you book a bed at one of the boujee beach clubs for the day or simply a place to lay a towel and take a picnic with you, either way is ideal.
It’s also super accessible for anyone with disabilities, with set areas around the beach for wheelchair users. The water is still, clear and ideal for swimming, it's great for families and you have the entire length of beach to choose where to set up for the day.
Sometimes it's the simple things.

Whisper from the dancefloor
After the success of the Brunch Electronik series and BBC Radio 1's visit, 528 Ibiza has started to announce plans for September. Though, there should still be more to come... maybe we'll get to see a return for one of 2023's big sell-out dates there?
