Top raver, booth infiltrator and our very own AM to PM girl, Lissy Lübeck is back on Ibiza for summer 2024, which means another weekly serving of misadventures in clubland. Here, Lissy shares her thoughts, experiences and inner musings direct from the dancefloor.
A year older, perhaps. But a year wiser? Nah.If you heard it from anybody else, you'd dismiss it as hyperbole, but Lissy Lü's real life is like that...
Back on the island after a fortnight's hiatus, Lissy collabs with stand-in Jo on this week's edition of dancefloor diaries. Partying as a profession is a hard life, but somebody's got to do it!
Double-trouble
4 to 10 July
Thursday
Lissy Lü is back! Shockingly, our first port of call is not headed straight for the club. Instead, we have an invitation to the Ibiza Fashion Festival at 528 Ibiza.
Bubbly on arrival, panoramic views from the rooftop Terrace, and mingling amongst Ibiza's chic clientele meant we had no qualms in hanging up the raving boots for one night. We even spotted some famous faces.
British TV presenter Tess Daly, whose fashion brand featured, and Scottish singer Tallia Storm out supporting her mum’s pop-art styled collection were both present. Taking our front row seats on the runway we were envious of the gorgeous swimwear and summer pieces that strutted before us.
Everything featured was by local Ibizan designers with an ethos of sustainability. I feel some retail therapy might be on the cards this weekend, what do you think Liss?
Friday
Variety is the spice of life and Ibiza has one of the most varied events calendars going. Tonight, we put this to the test and challenged ourselves to hit the most eclectic mix of parties we could find. Bring it on!
First, we ventured to Cova Santa for whimsical haven Storytellers. Down the rabbit hole of charming market stalls, theatrical performers and old-world decor, Franky Rizardo’s House selections shone through and the atmosphere was electric.
Over to Playa d’en Bossa where we danced through the decades with Children of the 80s at Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza. Golden oldies were the party soundtrack, as CO2 and confetti rained down upon us.
Going underground, we ended the night at Eden where Sasha & John Digweed conducted one of the legendary back-to-back sets at Space. Welcomed to the booth by words of praise from Space founder Pepe Rosselló, the hours that followed were pure Progressive House bliss.
Saturday
Three lions on the shirt… Yup, today was all about football!
For a self-proclaimed Chelsea fan who only knows two or three of the players' names, I can confidently say that when it comes to the Euros or the World Cup, I'm all eyes and ears. I can even reel off at least six or seven of the starting line-up.
A few of the team headed over to Bossa to claim our usual spot in front of the large screen at Moma. It just so happens that a large group of kitted-out Swiss fans were on the table behind. You could feel the tension.
After 120+ minutes of gruelling anxiety, we could all finally breathe! Not only did England absolutely smash it on penalties, it was nice to swipe the smug looks off the rowdy Swiss fans faces! Let’s go again on Wednesday. Eeek!
Sunday
Two things are always guaranteed at Playa d'en Bossa's luxury haven Beachouse - incredible food and even better music.
Instead of our usual trip to the venue's in-house event BOHO, this time we delved into the sounds of Arkadyan - a Dubai-based trio known for their diverse and culturally enriched sounds.
After being served up a sublime supper of meat and fish plates, sharing platters and their famous tiramisu to finish off the culinary experience, it was straight to the dancefloor. This being said, at Beachouse, you’re basically already on the dancefloor at your table.
The vibes were excellent with the trio not only being DJs, but instrumentalists also.
Monday
An Ibiza must - on Monday at sunset Lissy and I headed down to Café Mambo for food and drinks at the Amnesia Presents pre-party. Strawberry daiquiris were our cocktail of choice as we tucked into an array of tasty plates at our table, shared with Oden & Fatzo, Sammy Virji and friends all fuelling up for the night ahead.
We jumped a car to Amnesia and on the way brought in Jay's 40th birthday at midnight. Straight onto the decks and Danny Howard hit us with a spin of new single Keep On in the mix and sure-fire dancefloor bomb Make Me by Borai & Denham Audio.
Hands in the air? Try a prosthetic leg waving above the crowd. You do see it all on Ibiza!
Oden & Fatzo were up next and of course, Lauren (I can't stay forever) proved a crowd pleaser. Talking of which, are there any certified party anthems you hear being dropped by Sonny Fodera? Playing it safe, we left around 04:00, as Lissy had a big interview to prep for tomorrow…
Tuesday
Undoubtedly one of Defected’s biggest line-ups to date, on Tuesday the House music powerhouse welcomed headliners Masters At Work and Floorplan to the Ushuaïa stage.
Before we had the pleasure of experiencing this epic double-header, I sat down with DJ/producer/vocalist and style icon Eliza Rose, for a quick-fire interview, covering Glastonbury antics, hot to touch tracks and even DJ icks! Keep your eye out on Insta in the coming week for this one.
You can also catch her back at Defected on 17 September, as she goes back-to-back with MK.
Restaurant of the week
Perched adjacent to Playa Soleil lies Zazú, a beautifully presented beach club, tucked away from the hectic goings on of Playa d'en Bossa strip. Stunning interiors, impeccable service and in my opinion, five star food, Zazú makes the perfect spot for you and your friends for a day on the beach.
Trendy, Instagrammable and reasonably priced at the same time, take your pick from their single sun loungers on the white sands, to Balinese beds or just a table in the restaurant. Choose however you want to spend your day.

FISHER | Hï Ibiza | Wednesday 17 July
Aussie party animal FISHER is back on Ibiza and his weekly residency at Hï Ibiza is well underway after the birth of his first child - congrats!
Next week's line-up is a heater. The Theatre promises an all-night long House party with fun-loving Italian Franky Rizardo and PIV label boss Prunk jumping in the booth alongside host FISHER who is sure to deliver his raucous brand of Tech House.
Over in the club room, Vintage Culture boasts his own epic guest list, featuring fellow Brazilian star ANNA and collective Eynka. No matter which dancefloor you find yourself on, get ready for the roof to be blown clean off.
Whisper from the dancefloor
Which international DJ had to cancel their scheduled Ibiza appearance due to misplacing their passport? Fortunately, there was a ready-made replacement waiting in the wings!

PAWSA | TOO COOL TO BE CARELESS | PAWS | 5 July
Despite already gaining significant traction this summer for his hit single Pick Up The Phone, you have to give credit where it's due. Two hit tracks in one summer? Only one name comes to mind: PAWSA.
TOO COOL TO BE CARELESS features a sample from the 1984 track Don't Look Any Further by Dennis Edwards and Sideah Garrett. With his signature twist of a pitched down vocal and distinctive groove, you can easily imagine it going off on the DC10 Terrace.
