Top raver, booth infiltrator and our very own AM to PM girl, Lissy Lübeck is back on Ibiza for summer 2024, which means another weekly serving of misadventures in clubland. Here, Lissy shares her thoughts, experiences and inner musings direct from the dancefloor.
A year older, perhaps. But a year wiser? Nah.
If you heard it from anybody else, you'd dismiss it as hyperbole, but Lissy Lü's real life is like that... Partying as a profession is a hard life, but somebody's got to do it!

4 to 9 June
Tuesday
My first trip to Cova Santa of the year, I was super excited to get there for the venue’s famed sunset sessions on the open-air terrace before the music moved into the club. Plus, a whole load of my favourite DJs were playing.
I met my good friend Abigail and her boyfriend Robbie Doherty at the PIV villa, where we had gathered a night earlier for a networking event. Here, I was also introduced to some of the Dutch PIV gang. It would be a dream to play at a PIV party one day.
We arrived at Cova Santa for 21:00 and caught the last of the back-to-back between Prunk and Ruze, before Robbie went b2b with Jamback in the club. A highlight of this set was them playing a current favourite of mine, I've Arrived by Obskur, which is still unreleased.
It was the first time I’d heard it played out, and it went off.
Around 02:00, we decided to get a cab over to Lío Ibiza to catch our pals Mason Collective in action. It was my first time at Lío so I didn’t mind leaving a good party to check-out something new.
It was super fun, but as it shut at 04:00, we went back to Cova Santa for the last few hours of Dennis Quin.
Thursday
Another busy day of partying. This time, I was called up for duty as guest DJ on a sold out Pukka Up boat. Clubbing editor Stevey joined me in union, as we headed to Rio for the pre-party, where Lucy Jane was already warming the crowd up.
Once onboard, the crowd were super energetic and raring to go from the off. Myself and Lucy took it in turns behind the decks and played out all of the old school chart toppers. Before I knew it, it was nearing 21:00 and time to head back to shore. Time flies when you’re having fun, eh?
Straight off the boat, I ran to the taxi rank to make it in time for the last hour of Michael Bibi in the DC10 garden at Solid Grooves' opening party. I was there when he made a surprise return at the closing party last summer, so I knew I had to be there for this.
The garden was packed of course, but the energy was incredible. It was so good to see him back in action, even more sprightly and healthy than his impromptu comeback last year.
Unfortunately, I was unable to worm my way into the private after party on this occasion, however I’m sure there’ll be plenty more for me to sneak into this summer.
Saturday
For a friend's birthday, a group of us headed over to Stic Urban Hotel & Spa for a morning of self-care and downtime. If you're looking for a little bit of zen on the island, then this is great spot to get rejuvenated in the spa. There, you an use their facilities including sauna, steam room, ice room and plunge and pools for a very reasonable price.
Later that evening, we headed to Cala Gracioneta for the evening for some dinner and cocktails. Between us we shared sea bass, steak, mussels and a ton of veggie sides. Oh, and I sank three Bloody Marys, which by the way are a 10/10 here.
As the sun went down, we were given blankets to snuggle into, and the staff arranged a birthday cake for Melissa. My first time eating here, but definitely not my last.
We then headed to Pikes for Denney, but not before taking a wrong turn and ending up in a random field with grass taller than the car. It was like the beginning of a horror film, but hilarious to say the least.
Sunday
A fun-filled day off, I started my Sunday back at Pikes for the roast dinner I’ve been thinking about for the last four weeks, followed by a trip to Talamanca beach where I swam in the crystal clear and had the most gorgeous siesta on the sunbed.
A quick shower and change, we drove to Las Dalias for the night market, where I picked up some beautiful buys including a ring and a bracelet made out of a silver fork for my mum's birthday. Craftsmanship at its finest.
The whole of Las Dalias was buzzing with families, couples and friendship groups all there to soak up the excitement of the local bands and singers, DJs and food stalls. The real gem was in the confines of Las Dalias’ garden where Nido was taking place.
The night ended at Chi Kee Wun for a yummy dinner: duck pancakes, spring rolls, satay chicken, sweet and sour, egg fried rice. I was so full, but it was so worth it.
Beach of the week
A beach I have walked many times, but never spent the day on, I was blown away by Talamanca playa and its natural beauty. The sea here is so calm and clear, the restaurants all offer their own unique cuisines and you'll find lots of friendly locals here.
I ended up Shu on one of their luxury loungers, and would recommend setting up camp here for the day. You can even walk up to Chiringuito de María AKA The Fish Shack in 15 minutes, which sits at the very top of the promenade.

Tune of the week
Across Boundaries (Chris Stussy & Locklead) | T.M.P. | | Up The Stuss | 7 June
Two of The Netherland's finest in Deep Tech and Minimal, Chris Stussy and Locklead, have teamed up once again under their Across Boundaries alias to drop a killer new EP, Synergy on Up The Stuss.
Their new EP features four tracks, and while Pumpin' has been blowing up on TikTok, it's T.M.P. that really steals the show for me. This track is loaded with synthy grooves and hypnotic chimes, creating a vibe that pulls you in and doesn't let go.
When I caught up with Stuss last year, he told me to keep an eye on Locklead as an up-and-coming artist. Fast forward a year, and Locklead has totally come into his own. So, whether you're a longtime fan or just discovering their music, this one is sure to leave an impression.
