Pikes Ibiza - Set in the rural hills outside San Antonio, Pikes Hotel is a magical place with a whole lot of history. Its reputation for hedonism precedes it and truly feels like a community for liberal-minded people.
Renovated from a 500 year old finca, and named after its larger-than-life founder Tony Pike, Pikes rose to the top of popular culture in the ‘80s. It became a bolthole for famous A-listers and attracted the likes of George Michael, Grace Jones, Julio Iglesias and Freddie Mercury. All became Tony’s personal friends, some were lovers...
What does a stay at Pikes entail? In the words of its much loved founder, “complete and utter freedom.” It’s the original boho-chic hotel, with rock n’ roll running through its veins. To stay, is to become part of its history. For that reason, it’s adult-only as you might expect.
The famous pool, immortalised in the video for Club Tropicana, has a variety of day beds and loungers - available to hire by day guests, with priority given to hotel guests. The pool area is also equipped by Pikes legendary bar and overlooked by the onsite restaurant.
Pikes has many other strings to its bow, such as it’s famous Sunday Roast, the tennis courts, garden bar and inside disco, affectionately called Freddies.
Each bedroom suite has its own individuality and back story. No two are the same. Memorabilia, artwork and posters line the walls, while the furniture is vintage, worn even. Every room has a record player and the architecture is typically rustic Ibizan and dripping with Balearic charm.
Located inconspicuously in the countryside a mere 5-10 minute drive from San Antonio and the picturesque beaches of Cala Gració and Cala Salada. The famous Sunset Strip and the resort’s restaurants are close too, should you wish to venture out.
