Effective immediately, filming and photography on mobiles phones are now completely off the nighttime menu at Pikes.
The new rule comes into play following the success of its introduction on Andy Manumission & Pikes present Mondays, which started in April. From 8 August, all guests will have a sticker placed over the lens of their phone at the front desk, every night of the week.
The social media post reads: "We kindly ask that you refrain from filming or using your camera. Our team will politely enforce the policy if they catch you trying to snap a cheeky one, though you might find your fellow partygoers step in to remind you before we get there!"
You can read the post in full here.
Seemingly, customers themselves are those most in favour of the change, with many commenting on the positive effect it has had on their Pikes experience.
Since its implementation on Mondays, Pikes management have seen the benefits of a recording-free dancefloor. In fact, it's been the catalyst for a shift in the way people are behaving on the island, with more parties following suit.
Guests dance like nobody is watching, the DJs feel more comfortable, happy in the knowledge that they are not the focal point of the night, and a whole new world of freedom is opened up. Everyone is a winner. What happens at Pikes, stays at Pikes.
Coming up in the programme this weekend, Santanna Oush presents her all-women showcase OuShe tonight, Geordie party starter Denney headlines Pikes House Party on Saturday and Rob da Bank is joined by Dan Ghenacia and Secretsundaze for Sundays At Pikes.
Moving into next week, Sarah Story is back with more Stories on Wednesday, House hero David Morales returns on Thursday and Guy Williams' gay/straight/bi/whatever Flash is set for another busy Friday.
As usual, you can sign up for free guest list via the Pikes' website. Just remember the rules.
