Perched on the majestic cliffs just south of San Miguel port, the five-star hotel Hacienda Na Xamena definitely makes you feel you are arriving at a heavenly place as you ascend through the hills and pass through its gates.
Our view
After a quick check-in and tour of the hotel, we were shown to our room, a superior double, overlooking the sea as do all 69 rooms. As you would expect from a 5-star hotel it had every amenity you could wish for but we particularly loved the bath right next to the large window and its sea views.
Our bath with sea views
There was no time for baths though as we were booked into La Posidonia Spa for the Cascada pools which consist of a 50-minute circuit of 7 different relaxing areas, combining bubbles, underwater water massage jets and fountain jets, perfect for a shoulder massage.
Views from the cascadas of La Posidonia Spa
The pools are a perfect temperature and also overlook the magnificent cliffs and sea below, making this experience absolutely one to try while in Ibiza. Anyone can book La Posidonia Spa and all its treatments regardless of whether you're a guest or not.
Our dreamy king-sized bed
Next up was the siesta, all that relaxing had really taken its toll, so we headed back to the room a nodded off for an hour in one of the most comfortable beds you'll ever have the pleasure of sleeping in! Then time for a quick shower and it was off to Edén Restaurant for dinner.
Edén Restaurant
With one of the best views in the world, Na Xamena's restaurant is also stunning inside with a Mediterranean garden theme complete with a centenary olive tree at its centre and open to the sea air and all gently accompanied by live flamenco guitar music, perfect of the occasion.
The Garden of Eden
The food and service were absolutely right on the mark. Our waiter, friendly and efficient guided us through some wine options and shortly an aperitif arrived with the bottle of white from the Rioja region.
Mediterranean Bluefin Tuna
For the starter, we both chose Mediterranean Bluefin Tuna - loin of tataki with tomato chimichurri.
Oven-cooked octopus starter
Then we had the Octopus cooked in the oven with ¨Manzanilla de Sanlúcar¨, Iberian pork belly and parsnip.
Galician fillet steak
And finally the Galician Fillet steak, with Tournedós Rossini, grilled foie, homemade brioche and branch tomatoes, followed by a refreshing dessert of Melon caipirinha, melon in caipirinha and coconut ice cream.
The next morning we lazily slept in knowing we could sander down for breakfast which is served until 11 am. Set right next to the pool you can enjoy, fresh fruit, coffee, croissants and anything from the extensive menu that would cover any sized appetite.
After our check-out we decided to spend some time at the pool, choosing a shaded bed next to the cliffs and just sat and relaxed again, breathing in the last moments of this heavenly place that is Na Xamena.
