Tucked away in the stunning bay of Cala Llonga on the East coast of the island, you will find Ibiza's newest luxury hotels Mondrian Ibiza and Hyde Ibiza. Last Thursday, we had the pleasure of spending the day at the complex's brand new Bungalow Pool Bar and Grill, where we got a real taste of the deluxe lifestyle.
Upon arrival, we instantly felt welcome and taken care of. Pulling up to the entrance was like pulling up to the red carpet, with a host of smiling concierge ready to park your car for you.
As we were guided through to the reception of Mondrian, I was instantly blown away by its interior design.
Bare stone walls, artisan touches and rich finishes - not to mention the incredible aroma that wafted throughout, my camera was in action from the minute I stepped foot through the door.
After a quick loaf around and capturing some great Insta-ready content, we made our way down to poolside which is located adjacently.
Both Mondrian and Hyde boast a number of inviting pools, which are shared between the sister hotels. We had a bed with our name on it at Bungalow, overlooking the bay and luscious green tree tops. From here, you get a real birds eye view of Cala Llonga beach below, where you can watch the world go by and waves crash majestically into the shore.
Something that became apparent quite quickly, is that although the hotel has over 400 rooms, what's so magical about this beautiful Ibizan escape is the boutique feel it maintains. We felt like we were the only guests there. Maybe it's the setting, or the attentiveness of the staff, but it sure did feel like your own little bubble up there.
From the get go, the staff went above and beyond to make sure that our needs were met. As a group of four women, they understood the assignment, offering us a range of their finest signature beverages - from detox juices, to wellness shots and cocktails, our thirsts were left quenched by the end of our joyous afternoon.
For food, we were in awe of all of our dishes. A special mention needs to be said for the tuna sandwich, which my companions could not stop raving about. Equally, my club chicken sandwich was absolutely divine.
Not a crumb was left on the plate. The caesar salad and mixed sushi platter were also impeccable, which served as the perfect accompaniment to the flow of drinks being offered.
A lovely touch was that for my best friend's birthday, a delicious surprise was brought out to her at the sunlounger. Encompassed by a white chocolate pistachio shell, with chocolate wafers in the middle and a thoughtful birthday message drizzled in melted coco, it was the perfect sweet treat for four very full stomachs.
As a music fanatic, I was very impressed by the playlist throughout the day too. Chilled out, relaxing House music created the perfect atmosphere for a soothing day by the pool.
Throughout the afternoon, we dipped between the tempting piscina and our luxury sunlounger, and even managed to take an hour-long siesta. I felt like I had been reborn after a day at Mondrian, ready to conquer the not-so-chilled side of Ibiza again. I can't wait to return.
