While northern Europe is already wintry, in Ibiza the month of November often enjoys warm, sunny, clear days. The nights are cool, but even if you don't have central heating, a thick jumper will keep you warm enough. There might be the odd shower or even a few days of rainy weather - but normally not more than three or four in a row.
Now that the summer is over, Ibiza is much quieter, making it the ideal time for outdoor sports such as cycling, hiking and walking or playing golf at the Roca Llisa golf course.
Alternatively, take advantage of the quieter roads to hire a car, so you can explore the island.
Events
November starts with a national holiday, All Saints Day. Check out local cemeteries to see the gorgeous displays of roses, chrysanthemums and lilies left by mourners.
A combination of art, culture, and technology, Ibiza Light Festival is held annually in November. A multi-sensorial event for the whole family, make sure you put this one in your diary.
The most important local tradition this month is what is known as las matanzas, when the Ibicencans slaughter their pigs and prepare typical dishes with them such as arroz de matanzas - a paella-like dish made with rice and pork - or the sausages butifarra and sobrasada. It's a social event that has been celebrated here since time immemorial. Check out local restaurants to see if you can try them!
Spaniards love their sports - so after the summer season work is done, there are many races and competitions in November: find them in our events calendar.
