As the island shakes off the last traces of winter, Ibiza comes alive with a vibrant mix of events to mark the start of the season. From world-class sporting competitions and open-air cultural festivals to culinary experiences, pioneering workshops and charity galas, there's no shortage of ways to embrace the island's energy.
Whether you're looking to test your fitness limits, view top athletes performing, indulge your inner culture vulture or simply chow down on some tasty local gastronomy, this month's lineup promises something special for every taste.
Carnival parade in Ibiza Town
Saturday, 1 March, from 17:00
Prepare yourself for a spring shindig like no other: the Carnival procession is back! Ibiza Town will host this must-see moment of March mania on the first day of the month, starting in the late afternoon. Accompany the many coloured floats as they make their way along the streets of the town centre, before ending up in the pedestrian area of Vara de Rey. Gear up for the occasion and join in one of the cultural highlights of the year on the White Island.
And don't forget: Carnival is also held in other towns around Ibiza, such as San Antonio and Santa Eulalia on 4 March, Cala de Bou, San Juan, and Formentera. Exact dates are still to be confirmed.
Formentera E-Bike Experience

Join local experts at Walking Ibiza for a very special e-biking experience through the gorgeous scenery on Ibiza's sister island, Formentera. The fully guided excursion includes a professional guide, high-end electric mountain bike, return ferry tickets & energy bar.
Balearic Islands Day

Balearic Islands Day is back and the Ibiza Council is planning numerous events to mark the occasion over the period 22 February to 2 March.
Mostly held in the village of San Rafael, the activities include a parade of traditional carts, traditional farmers' dances, a tasting of local artisanal foodstuffs and fun events and workshops for children.
International Women's Day
8 & 9 March
Never more timely, International Women's Day is back again. It is celebrated all over the islands with all sorts of activities both in the week running up to the 8th and the week after. Ibiza Town is the centrepiece, naturallly, with a varied programme of activities ranging from book launchings, movies, and music performances, to walks and workshops. There will also be a demonstration to champion women's rights.
Regardless of age or gender, be sure to make an appearance in order to show your support.
And what healthier, more fun way could there be than by taking part in the Solidarity race for International Women's Day on 9 March. There are three categories—individual, women's pairs, and mixed pairs as well as a children's category. The race kicks off in the resort of Figueretas, adjoining the capital. A non-competitive version, Caminada per la Dona (Women's Day Walk) will also be held.
Fira des Gerret - Fish fair in Santa Eulalia

The humble, sardine-like gerret has been a staple of the local diet in the Balearic Islands for centuries. The Fira des Gerret (or Gerret Fair) in Santa Eulalia pays tribute to it via an animated event where you can savour it prepared in different ways – including family recipes - as well as a crafts market, live music, exhibitions, kids' activities and more.
Solidarity race for International Women's Day in Formentera
9 March, from 10:00
To commemorate International Women's Day, the Consell of Formentera organises every year a solidarity race, the Cursa Solidària per la Dona. Registration costs €10, and all proceeds go to the Spanish Association Against Cancer of Formentera.
After the race, socialise and enjoy a delicious paella, available at an affordable price.
Ibiza Cine Fest
9 March
Held annually, the International film festival for independent cinema on Ibiza will feature an array of national and international feature and short films along with professional workshops and master classes for budding auteurs. One for movie buffs islandwide.
Fun Cycling Race, La Cursa des Porquet

After being cancelled twice in February due to the weather conditions, hopes are high that this hugely popular "Piglet's Race" can take place on 9 March. Promising fantastic fun for all the family, it's a great chance for the little ones to dress up in their favourite costumes and set off on a thrilling race from the fountain square in San Antonio to the hamlet of Buscastells, La Forada, and back.
This inclusive event includes a baby race at 10:30, a mini race at 10:45 and the main event at 11:00. Ample prizes and awards will be given out afterwards to all those taking part.

Fun run: Cursa de Passeig a Passeig

An evergreen in the world of athletics on Ibiza, the Cursa de Passeig a Passeig (race from promenade to promenade) departs from Paseo de Vara de Rey in Ibiza Town to the Paseo de S'Alamera in Santa Eulalia. Best of all, you can join in this light-hearted event by a variety of transport means ranging from foot to bicycle to… skates! With a variety of categories, the race is open to participants of all ages.
Harmonica & breath workshop

Hosted by Spanish harmonica maestro Quim Roca, this workshop goes beyond simple harmonica technique to encompass its value as a therapeutic method that focuses on breathwork to enhance your well-being, manage stress and reduce anxiety. Definitely a first for the island and one that promises to be a lot of fun!
Charity Fashion Show in Santa Eulalia

Santa Eulalia's Palacio de Congresos de Ibiza is the setting for this glamorous gala event to aid in the fight against cancer. Organised by Better Life Ibiza Association and Blue Seven Events, it will feature a fashion show, dance performances, live music, DJs, an aperitif, a raffle and a kids area.
Gastronomic cuttlefish fair in San Juan

Another tribute to maritime traditions this month, the Cuttlefish Fair is held in the village of San Juan, in the north of the island. Drop by to sample all the tasty recipes on offer (both traditional and avant-garde), soak up the vibes, and check out the handicraft stalls while you're at it.

An annual event to mark the town's patron saint festivities, Cursa Trail sa Talaia takes place on routes on the mountain of Sa Talaia - Ibiza's highest point - above this charming traditional town. A trail-running event for federated runners, it is held over two distances. Take part or come to view the spectacle.

But our guide to what's on in March would not be complete without mentioning four of Ibiza's fabled markets, which take place at the weekend throughout the winter. First off, there's Las Dalias Hippy Market, situated just outside the charming village of San Carlos. Ideal for shopping, people watching, cuisine - both local and international - and live music, it's open on Saturday and Sunday. Those looking for locally made and grown produce, meanwhile, should check out the farmer's market in San Antonio (Friday mornings) and the Forada market in Buscastell, a minute hamlet inland from the town of San Antonio (Saturday mornings). Lastly, jumble in all forms, designer garments, and even live music await every Saturday morning at the flea market in San Jordi (between Ibiza Town and the airport). Happy rummaging!
