Making waves: Fantasía Ibiza Festival celebrates sea, sustainability and social inclusivity

From sound healing to sonic installations, this artistic showcase dives into the symbolic power of life’s most vital element.

From 16 to 18 May 2025, the Fantasía Ibiza Festival (FIF) returns for its third edition, promising three days of art, activism and accessibility – all under the guiding theme of water and the sea. Set across four open-air stages and venues including the ultra-stylish The Standard Ibiza, this key event on the island's cultural calendar will feature nearly 200 artists, six conferences, and a full programme of free activities for the public.

Timed to coincide with International Recycling Day (IRD), this year's FIF explores water as a universal symbol of life, transformation and connection. The festival, spearheaded by Lucía Barbiero and backed by the non-profit association Tetra Ibiza, continues to promote the idea of art as a universal right and a tool for emotional and physical wellbeing.

A cornerstone of the 2025 edition is its commitment to sustainability and inclusion. Winners of the island's UPCYCLING and ZERO WASTE competitions will showcase their work in a dedicated exhibition, while local painters and artisans will head to the streets of Ibiza Town with works inspired by the Mediterranean. The event also deepens its social mission with the participation of “Ibiza Inclusiva” and a greater drive to integrate emerging and established artists into one inclusive space.

Festival highlights include performances by electro-analogue artist Javier Ferrer, flamenco-rap fusion artist Kinky Bwoy, and an inclusive live show from BESET & WaaM. International illusionist Sasha Crespi will present a water-themed magic show, while sound artist Ángel de la Llave delivers an immersive sonic experience inspired by the movement of water.

In the conference programme, electronic composer and sound engineer Coco Francavilla will present her NGO MusicForTheSea, which links music with marine conservation. Therapist Océano Salvatore will offer insights into his aquatic healing method Wataflow, which harnesses the healing power of water to attain deep relaxation. The immersive multisensory installation Inner Vision by Marie Su Loher will also be open to the public in The Standard's Green Room space.

Plaza del Parque, Paseo de Vara de Rey, Parque Reina Sofía and the Baluarte de Sant Pere will serve as the main stages, while talks will take place in Jara, The Standard Ibiza's social and culinary space, each evening from 17:00 to 19:00.

Now firmly established as a creative platform with international reach, FIF continues to champion the idea of art as both an outlet for personal expression and a vehicle for social and environmental reflection. As founder Lucía Barbiero notes, “Celebrating three years of Fantasía Ibiza Festival marks a milestone in establishing a space for culture, creativity and social awareness. With water and the sea at the heart of this year's edition, we invite everyone to explore their symbolic power through collective artistic expression.”
