Top raver, booth infiltrator and our very own AM to PM girl, Lissy Lübeck is back on Ibiza for summer 2024, which means another weekly serving of misadventures in clubland. Here, Lissy shares her thoughts, experiences and inner musings direct from the dancefloor.
A year older, perhaps. But a year wiser? Nah.
If you heard it from anybody else, you'd dismiss it as hyperbole, but Lissy Lü's real life is like that... Partying as a profession is a hard life, but somebody's got to do it!

Sunday
"Alexa, play Prada by Cassö, D-Block Europe and RAYE."
Sunday was the team's first dip into Ibiza Rocks of summer 2024. Today, I interviewed new kids on the block Cassö, Daire and Multunes. Known for their high-energy performances and sleek, dance-worthy edits of popular chart-toppers, this was the first day of their Soundcloud Presents series.
Super friendly, full of energy (despite a full bank holiday weekend of bouncing from country to country, gig to gig), and eager to get stuck in, all three of them were great fun to talk to. It seemed that Daire may be the most charismatic of the trio. He was stopped by ladies on multiple occasions, each keen to get a selfie taken with him.
Keep your eyes peeled for the interview on our social media channels.
Tuesday
I’ve been waiting for all winter for this day to arrive. Defected started up its new residency at the Playa d'en Bossa super-club Ushuaïa.
Early doors we go two interviews under my belt: one with OG Defected First Lady Sam Divine and the other with my good friend Rio Tashan, the new generation starlit of the brand.
The vibes were immaculate from start to finish. From doors open you could feel the anticipation seep through the air. I managed to speak to Wez Saunders, who expressed his excitement for the day.
Rio was of course like an excited puppy, as his back-to-back-to-back set with Prunk and Olive F approached.
Within the first two hours, the whole front of the club filled up/ The crowd was great. From Defected superfans to Ibiza tourists, there was a great mix of old and new ready to get their fix of pulsating House beats.
Seeing Louie Vega close out the stage was very cool. Although the party didn't stop there...
Afterwards, Sam Divine and Rio went b2b in the green room before Eats Everything and Olive took over until 01:00. It’s not everyday you get to be in the presence of House music's best at a private party! Oh, and even got to speak to Dennis Ferrer too. It was a good day (big grin emoji!)
Friday
Friday night, the clubbing team plus James and Pete took a trip back down to Playa d'en Bossa to check-out its latest nightspot, Baloo Ibiza.
The perfect spot for holidaymakers staying in the area, the newly renovated space boasts a cocktail terrace, grill restaurant and an indoor club where you can dance until the early hours. The staff were friendly and attentive, the cocktails were Insta-primed and utterly delicious, and the menu perfect for that pre-night out stomach filler.
After we indulged and took in the vibes of the terrace area, we headed into the club or what it was dubbed for the night, The Latin Room. The space was incredible. A lavish dancefloor, full bar and a whole VIP section with tables and lounging chairs.
But the interior wasn't the most special part. We had just walked into a full-on salsa extravaganza. Pure vibes and energy. Song after song, people would switch partners and ask the next to dance. Charlotte even got involved whilst myself and Steve stared on in awe.
Sunday
Setting an alarm for a Sunday morning should be illegal. However, not in this instance.
At 07:00 my alarm went off, as it was time to head to Amnesia to catch the last few hours of Honey Dijon and Joseph Capriati at the club's Opening Party. Hayley scooped me up and off we went, complete with rave outfits and donning sunnies.
In my opinion, a morning session on the Amnesia Terrace is hard to beat and I think this was my favourite one yet. The crowds left at this time are the proper hard loons, the ones that love to dance and get lost in the music. Ravers through and through.
There were hardly any phones in sight apart from mine (guilty as charged!), as I was on content duty. And what content I got!
From the VIP Terrace, I spotted two girls dressed as nuns, dancing away on the podium like no one was watching. I managed to get a clip, and it has since amassed MILLIONS of views online! I've had music pages and even the industry's giant print publications message me asking to use it for their own.
The clip just seems to be going crazy. I even got a message from one of the nuns over in Italy, thanking me for the video.
Musically, Capriati absolutely smashed it and I managed to ID a few of his tracks for my own use. It was an epic morning to say the least.
Beach of the week
My beach of the week is Playa Pinet, otherwise known as Reggae Beach, thanks to its most famous occupant GRB. On Sunday, my flatmate Lucy and I took a stroll around the bay to see what it had to offer, as so many people I know love it there.
The calmest and clearest waters, a mix of both families and groups of friends, and of course the recognisable reverberations of Reggae music from the beach shack in the background. There's also a few restaurants to grab drinks and food, for anyone wanting to set up for the day.
Party radar
Music On opening party | Pacha | Friday 17 May
The Italian Tech House king Marco Carola returns to his Music On throne this Friday at Pacha, alongside a stellar line-up of established and upcoming underground talent. The first of many, but let’s face it, an opening party is always one not to be missed.
Line-up: Marco Carola, Luciano, Rendher and Ale de Tuglie
Whisper from the dancefloor
Everybody loves dancing outdoors and who doesn't love a freebie?
Last summer, was one of the best for free outdoor parties. Well, I'm hearing one in particular is coming back in 2024 and you might know a few of the names on the line-up. I certainly do. As for when? Before the end of June!

Tune of the week
Easttown | Athletic | Cecille Records | 29 April
One of the tracks I managed to Shazam at 10:00 on the Amnesia Terrace, played by Capriati. The perfect 130 bpm House banger infused with grooves, vocals and that old school panache.
