Sport events - take part or watch and cheer
3 and 10 September
Sportswise, September sees the celebration of two notable events.
The first, the Big Splash swim crossing - organised by Project Zero and Ibiza Blue Challenge - takes place on 10 September. Comprising four swims of differing lengths and levels of ability that start out from Talamanca Beach, the aim of the event is to raise funds to protect and restore ocean and marine ecosystems.
The second, the Mini Marathon is a traditional road race that departs from Passeig de ses Fonts in San Antonio to coincide with the town's month-long patron saint festivities of San Bartomeu. Catering to all ages and levels, this fun event occurs on 3 September.
Open-air film screenings
Movie fans will be pleased to know this month sees several showings across the island. Movieland night at Hotel Mongibello will screen the epoch-defining La Dolce Vita on 15 September while Starlit Movie Nights at Hotel Riomar Ibiza, in Santa Eulalia, will offer a twice-monthly showing of cult movies.
San Miguel Patron Saint Festivities
29 September
