With the welcome arrival of September, the heat begins to drop, the island’s roads, beaches and businesses become quieter, and everyone is more chilled out after the frenetic pace of August. Fortunately, if you are lucky enough to have chosen this month to visit, you can be sure there are still plenty of great things to do.
Alongside cultural, musical and sporting events there are personal growth workshops, conventions and a festival devoted to ecology and sustainability on Ibiza. Naturally, some great parties are taking place this month, too. So, whatever tickles your fancy, there’s something here for you.

Ibiza Jazz Festival
1-3 September
The annual Ibiza Jazz Festival comes to a close at the start of the month. Its concerts - held in Reina Sofia Park and on the Santa Lucia Bastion in the old town (a free bus service will ferry visitors up to Dalt Vila) – showcase the best of local and international talent from the world of jazz. Don't miss the chance to enjoy top-notch jazz in spectacular settings!
Lust for Laughs
2 September
Host James Regal will be the compere for another night of stand-up comedy in the Lust for Laughs series at Pikes Ibiza in San Antonio. Friday's line-up features two leading international stand-ups with impressive track records. Get your tickets for this laugh-out-loud event exclusively from Ibiza Spotlight.
Ibiza Burlesque Festival
2-4 September
Sapphira’s Showtime presents the sixth edition of their beach-inspired Ibiza Burlesque Festival this month. Over 20 artists from ten different countries are taking part in a flamboyant festival that features some of the world's best burlesque stars & DJs.
Personal growth workshops
3,5 & 10 September
A series of fascinating personal growth workshops take place this month on Ibiza.
On 3 and 10 September, therapist and yoga teacher Francesca Marchioro will be leading two one-day events at Mikasa Hotel called Awakening Your Soul, where she will explain how food can awaken your soul by following the ancient precepts of Ayurvedic medicine.
Also on 10 September, Suco Sessions return to Nobu Roof Terrace on the bay of Talamanca, just outside Ibiza. These popular sessions integrate breathwork, dancing and ancient science-based practices with electronic music to boost your sense of connectedness, freedom and wellbeing.
Nobu Roof Terrace is also hosting The Alchemy Journey, curated by Christinajade on 5 September. Using a unique blend of breathwork, electronic music and crystal singing bowls, her sessions are designed to nurture the mind, body and soul, creating a feeling of deep relaxation and helping to re-align the body and nervous system.
Pool Sessions @Hard Rock Hotel
6 September
Ibiza's coolest pool party, Pool Sessions @Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza, returns this month with the Desvarian Come Closer Pool Party by DJ B Jones, with two different guests. In addition, resident Hard Rock DJs Sita and Hady will also perform along with the dancers of Hard Rock Hotel and different live shows.
Grab your swimsuit or bikini and be prepared to dance in the sun all afternoon to the best tunes and vibes!
Brisa Flamenca Festival
9-10 September
This month sees the fifth edition of the Brisa Flamenca Festival in San Antonio. This year, the open-air festival returns with Niña Pastori - a leading flamenco artist on the Spanish scene - as the headliner, seconded by the duo Israel Fernandez (voice) and Diego del Morao (guitar).
Ibiza Tattoo Convention
9-11 September
The third edition of the Ibiza Tattoo Convention will be held at the Palacio de Congresos in Santa Eulalia. With over 100 renowned national and international tattoo artists inside the venue and a wide range of attractions outside including music, food trucks, exhibitions, shows, vintage clothing, kids activities and much, much more, this is one event you won’t want to miss.
Ibiza Beer Festival
16-17 September
Slake your thirst by quaffing a pint or two at the 13th edition of the much-loved Ibiza Beer Festival. Taking place at the Recinto Ferial, Ibiza town’s exhibition venue, this year’s edition looks set to be better than ever!
With more than 100 varieties of beer from around the world, a gastronomy zone, two food trucks and – new this year - a cocktail area where you can savour cocktails made from barley juice, the two-day event is a must for beer lovers. It will also feature well-known 80s-music DJs Petit and Vázquez.
Access is free and limited to those over 18 years old.
Mini Ultraswim
17 September
Whether you’re a keen open-water swimmer or just want to go along to cheer the competitors on, make a date in your diary for the Mini Ultraswim. This 5-km swim traverses the sea between Cala Llonga beach and Santa Eulalia beach, forming the second stage of the VII SPANISH CUP OF OPEN WATER RFEN.
Ecologic Festival Ibiza
17-18 September
Held at the Ibiza Botánico Biotecnológico, the Ecologic Festival Ibiza launches its second edition this year. Dedicated to sustainability, the festival is a multifunctional space dedicated where sellers, NGOs and environmental associations gather to promote initiatives designed to improve the environment and the quality of life of Ibiza and Formentera.
The festival features lots of fun activities such as recycling workshops and group sessions led by environmental educators, meaning there’s something for all the family.
Solomun At The Port of Ibiza
21 September
After a two year hiatus, Pacha Group and Solomun's legendary free party in Ibiza Port is back.
This free, open-air gig is an annual thank you to the town for another record-breaking season. Everyone is welcome, though if you want the best seats in the house, booking at one of the seafront bars or restaurants is essential.

International Performance Art Festival
17-22 September
Performance art is at the core of Territori Ibiza, an international meeting bringing together an outstanding selection of artists from all over the world who work with the body, live and action arts.
Featuring professional sessions, documentaries, conferences, exhibitions, audio-visual sessions, workshops and more, this unique, ground-breaking festival will take place in different locations around the island.
Two stand-out dance events are occurring in the latter part of September. On 20 September, Disco Disco – the London-based company famed for its passion for disco music and inclusive parties - will be rocking the Wild Corner of Hï Ibiza. Get your flares out and prepare for a stomping event that celebrates the best vibes of the 70s, 80s and 90s.
Meanwhile, just two days later, on 22 September, Cosmic Pineapple returns to Pikes Ibiza for another of its amazing 12-hour parties. Incorporating motivational talks, yoga classes, workshops, plenty of great music, cocktails by the pool and much more during the daytime before heading into Freddies, Pikes' legendary disco, after midnight, this promises to be one helluva bash!
Back to School Music Festival
23-24 September
Get ready to rock at the Back to School Music Festival on the park square in the village of Sant Jordi!
Now in its 10th edition, this free event features a great line-up of rock&roll, blues, progressive and post-punk bands from the Spanish music scene. With drinks, special American-style sandwiches, live performances, and oodles of local atmosphere, this promises to be an unmissable musical event.
Dramatised visits to the Punic Necropolis
25 September
Discover a fascinating period in Ibiza’s early history in a fun, entertaining way through dramatised visits to the Punic Necropolis of Puig des Molins, the Mediterranean’s largest and best-preserved Punic-era burial site.
Watch as a group of local actors perform the different Phoenician, Punic and Roman rituals carried out at the site. Organised once a month, these events are free to attend though pre-booking is required.
