Sunset-worshippers everywhere will be delighted to hear that San Antonio’s world-renowned Sunset Strip is reopening this weekend. The world-famous promenade is one of the island’s most popular places, and is home to several of Ibiza’s most iconic venues, the best Balearic Beats, and, it goes without saying, spectacularly beautiful sunsets.
First to open its doors will be Mint Lounge, Café Mambo’s baby sister venue. Mint offers Italian cuisine and mouth-watering cocktails – most notably its mojitos – accompanied by Balearic chill and Deep House music. Located at the end of the Strip, this innovative lounge bar provides arguably the best view of the glowing sunsets for which the west coast is famous. Mint Lounge opens on Friday 15 April.
On the same night, Café Del Mar, the beachfront bar that single-handedly pioneered the sunset scene in San Antonio, opens its doors too. From its famous terraces, bar area and VIP lounge - all with stunning sea views – it’s the ideal spot to enjoy a drink and listen to the groovy beats that have defined the island, while you soak up the special atmosphere.
Then, the following weekend, it’s the big one! The legendary Café Mambo, whose sunset chill-out sets, live sessions featuring leading DJs and pre-club parties have made it notorious worldwide, is sure to open with a bang. At the time of going to press, the musical line-up is yet to be confirmed, so watch our news for updates in the coming days.
Massively popular with young clubbers, it’s the strip’s liveliest venue. On top of its great sounds and prime location, Café Mambo serves top-notch cuisine for that unforgettable sunset supper, as well as a wicked line in cocktails. Opening night, with a party you won’t want to miss, is Friday 22 April from 18:00 till late.
Given that it’s Easter Weekend and the weather looks set to be fine, the strip is bound to be packed, so we highly recommend making a reservation to book your sunset spot and be prepared for a possible minimum spend.
