Ibiza Cricket Club is delighted to announce the creation of their own, purpose-built pitch at the old polo club in San Lorenzo for the summer of 2021.
Large grass areas are hard to come by in Ibiza, so the old polo pitch makes perfect sense. The grass on the outfield has been trimmed and an all-weather batting surface located in the centre. The first T20 game was played on it on Saturday 12 June and was voted a huge success - all the players loved the new pitch.
It is now time to grow the club, so there can always be a big pool of players to get more games in. The club is now actively recruiting new players, of all levels - they have fantastic new facilities available and are reaching out to fellow cricket enthusiasts to come and take part.
With purpose-built practice nets and a bowling machine at Can Frare, near San Antonio, for regular training sessions, plus, for summer 2021, the amazing new grass pitch in San Lorenzo available for evening knocks, there is plenty of opportunity to get your cricket fix.
“Everybody gets to play” is an important idea for Ibiza Cricket Club. The club tries to get everybody playing at the best of their level, whilst also enjoying the social side of the team. They would welcome players of all levels to come and play.
An open invitation exists, for residents or tourists alike, to have a game with the Ibiza Cricket Club on Wednesday evenings at San Lorenzo from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Or for batting practice at the nets at Can Frare, near San Antonio.
