The annual four-day free music event that is the Formentera Jazz Festival, takes place at various locations around the beautiful island. Ibiza Gay Pride, takes over the streets and port of Ibiza Town with a colourful mix of music, art, theatre and open-air revelry, opened with song by UK drag queen star Ruby Murry. Pride culminates in the big street parade for gay rights on the 15th. Everyone is welcome to participate in the crazy antics of this annual celebration of tolerance, diversity and freedom.
Super SupercarS
15 and 29 June
Motoring enthusiasts will be pleased to note that two major events on the supercar rally season, the Gumball 3000 from Mykonos and the Modball Rally from London, both arrive in Ibiza this month, on the 15th and 29th respectively. Keep an eye out for their expensive rides as the proud owners parade around the city streets.
A dance of fire
23 June
Folklore and fire merge into a ritual of hedonism that can last till dawn in the festival of San Juan, celebrated across the island. Make the pilgrimage north to Ibiza's own town of San Juan, to find yourself urged on by demons to walk through flames at midnight. Be wowed by fireworks lighting up the sky and music filling the streets. It's a must-try Spanish tradition.
