From the legendary club closings, to events for body, mind and spirit, to light installations to filling up on some delicious food - who says summer is over. It really is not. There's still time to book your flights and when you get here, you'll have a tonne of things to do. In fact, you'll be spoilt for choice. club closing parties
1-14 October
With all the super-clubs and many major parties closing their doors in the first two weeks of the month, you can literally pick the party or parties for you on the White Isle in October. With spectacular shows and events often running extended hours, you might want to pace yourselves. A series of back-to-back events could keep you up for days. High spirits
7 October
That the bi-annual Ibiza Spirit Festival is a top date for the calendar is undoubted. Join in with free yoga and tai chi lessons, workshops, meditations, singing, a children's garden and more. This year's highlights include Anthony Abaggnano's world-famous “Alchemy of Breath” workshop and the intriguing Story Project, which will explore the boundaries of possibility. All is for your continued wellness with practitioners from all over the island. A spiritual treat.
Light it up baby
12-13 October
See Ibiza Town's old town transformed in the third edition of the Ibiza Light Festival, which brings together video and light artists and lighting designers to illuminate this historic and emblematic area with nightly shows from 19:00 on its two day run. See buildings and streets transformed with installations that will help you see the city's ancient quarter through new eyes. Let there be light!
Tour the island
12-14 October
Calling all cyclists. What better way to blast out the toxins after a club closing or two than an island tour with the “Vuelta Cicloturista” Take in Ibiza in all its glory, with a bike tour around the island taking in stunning sights of the beautiful landscape and coast. It's an event for all with regular cyclists to professionals from the world of competitive cycling, though all you need do is sign up and have a good time. Energy all around
20-26 October
If you like all things holistic, then Energy Week Ibiza could be just the job. There's free entrance for the first two days of the event with workshops and talks at Casa Ibango on the 20th and on the 21st Elements Ibiza on Benirras beach is host to a day of art, music, food and drink on the beach. Then there's five days of yoga under the Ibiza sky. Get yourself ready.
Food, glorious food
28 October
Ibizan and international cuisine over myriad stalls from over 20 of the island's restaurants and samples of their fabulous food dishes. This is the regular Ibiza Food Factory at Sluiz in Santa Gertrudis, back for its autumn edition. Celebrate Ibiza's culinary delights and munch along with live music. There's entertainment for the kids too and it all takes place from midday to 18:00.
There's something out there
31 October
Just when you thought it was all over, comes what many consider to be the very last closing party (or rather, parties) as venues across the island do their Halloween magic and everyone transforms into ghouls, goblins, witches, warlocks and vampires. Full details are still to come on each one, but we can tell you that Boutique Hostal Salinas, Pikes and Heart are in for this year with many more to be announced.
