Best of British comedy night lands on Ibiza

A transfer of four leading British comedians lands in Ibiza's Santa Gertrudis this October.

Some exceptional comedy talent from the heart of London is coming to the heart of Ibiza. The Ibiza Comedy Gala on 25 October lands in a Covent Garden Comedy Club transfer to Es Jardins de Fruitera in Santa Gertrudis.

The comedy night, which it is hoped, will be the first of many boasts a line-up of some of the London venue's finest comedians. With more and more people viewing online comedy, British humour continues to travel and and has now made it to Britain's favourite short-haul holiday destination.

Early bird tickets for the comedy night are priced at €30 each and drinks prices promise to be very reasonable with beer and wine starting at only €3 each.

The line-up has some well-seasoned comedians including the award-winnning Markus Birdman who has featured extensively on radio and television and is an Edinburgh Festival stalwart. He is joined by Barry Castagnola, Ninia Benjamin of the BBCs 3 Non-Blondes show and Carey Marx.

All the comedians have been personally chosen by Neil Kinsella, owner of the Covent Garden Comedy Club for their ability to perform to different nationalities.

On why Ibiza needs a comedy night, Neil comments: “People on Ibiza are tired, they dance too much, then need to sit down”.

Having been coming to Ibiza during summer for the past 10 years, he felt there to be a distinct lack of comedy, theatre and live music and saw room for some high quality comedy that would suit the international community that both visits and resides on the island.

He adds: “Laughter, like dancing is a great way of being in the moment and releasing tension.”

The night has a limited number of tickets so it is advised to book your tickets quickly. More information, including a link to get seats for the night can be found on the Covent Garden Comedy Club website.
