Ibiza gets active on the beach

The beach is open all year.

A new line up of free beach activities is in the offing for all those that sign up. The beaches of Talamanca and Figueretes are running a new programme to take us up to the end of April with sports, workshops and games.

Every Saturday and Sunday between 10.30am and 1.30pm you can sign up for all kinds of activities including paddle surfing, kayaking, football, handball and volleyball. There are kids workshops, mosaics, crafts and face painting too – it's a day out for the whole family. Little ones can even have fun in a treasure hunt and all get to take part in team games.

This Saturday in Figueretas you can take part in a bit of volleyball or kayaking the next day. Then in Talamanca there's paddle surf on Saturday then volleyball on in case you missed it on the Sunday. There are also workshops and a couple of mini rugby tournaments if you just want to do a bit of spectator sport.

The beaches of Ibiza are some of the most glorious anywhere in the world and Ibiza's Town Council wants to promote the idea of using them for sports activities as well as sunbathing. There is a big desire to prove that weather rain or shine, Ibiza gives you lots to do at any time of year.

If you want to participate in any of the organised sports activites, you will need yo go to the Tourist Office in Casa de la Cúria, Plaza de la Catedral to reserve a spot. You can also email directly to informacioturistica@ibiza.es.

The beach is open all year round – are you ready?
