Cañas’n’Roll rocks the weekend

2019 event brings beer and tapas, film and lots of rock‘n’roll.

Beer, food, film and most importantly: rock‘n'roll - that is Cañas‘n'Roll, the event that each year enlivens weekend life in and around San José from Friday to Monday.

Taking you all the way through to 21 December, we can't think of a better way to beat the winter blues and prepare for Christmas, especially with beer and tapas for just €3.

See live music from local heroes, such as the Blues Mafia, Loop Madness and the Groovy Brothers with the sounds of flamenco and live DJ sets to get you moving too.

Lots of bars are taking part from Raco Verd and most of the bars in the village of San José, to the iconic roadside venue Can Jordi - just listen out for the banging beats.

For those that fancy a bite to eat that's a bit more filling, check out the venues offering specially-priced one-plate dishes with a drink for as little as €8 a piece with Menjas'n'roll. Try our old favourite Chimichurri's "vinyl" pizza.

With bars and restaurants in San José, San Antonio Bay (Cala de Bou) and San Agustín taking part, you are really spoilt for choice.

For film there's two top movies at San José's Can Jeroni Cultural Centre. Quadrophenia, based on the Who's rock opera is this Friday 6 December with coming-of-age comedy American Graffiti on Friday 20 December. Both are English language with Spanish subtitles.

All you need to do is rock up to Cañas'n'roll for a weekend full of delights!
