Preview: Ibiza Rocks 2011

The hotel, the house, the bar, the diner, the brand.......but the gigs are still the driving force behind the movement. We preview 2011.

Now taking place on a Wednesday, (Mallorca Rocks on a Tuesday) the Ibiza Rocks parties will begin their evenings of live entertainment on 1st June with the closing on 21st September. Set in the hotel's courtyard surrounding one of the two outdoor swimming pools, room and balcony space at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel will, as usual, definitely be in high demand.

Famous for uniting music revellers world wide and bringing different genres to the White Isle each year, it's hard to imagine how they can beat last season's 5th birthday party, which saw The Prodigy return to Ibiza after 18 years away to give a phenomenal performance.

But with 17 shows (2 weeks longer than last year) lined up, this season is set to be the biggest yet and shouldn't disappoint and we will see the return of Ibiza Rocks veterans; Dizzie Rascal, Zane Lowe, Biffy Clyro, Kissy Sellout, Friendly Fires and Chase and Status.

The brand that has ‘taken over the Balearics' will open its season back where it all began in 2005 at the Ibiza Rocks Bar, previously Bar M, on May 28th with a solo performance from Razorlight's front man Johnny Borrell to kick off the summer season of 2011. Ibiza Rocks is aiming to provide clubbers with ‘an unrivalled experience that you'll struggle to find anywhere else in the world' and the Hotel opening on the 1st June see's Plan B Headlining along side MC Wretch-32 who is currently supporting Example on tour – that can't be bad.

For the last 3 years the Ibiza Rocks Hotel has given the stage to sell out acts, such as Florence and the Machine, and helped bring a new wave of music lovers to the White Isle by showcasing some of the best urban, indie, rock and electronic acts. 2011 will see dubstep having a go at whipping the crowd into a frenzy with Magnetic Man unleashing some naughty basslines supported by vocals from Katy B on 31st August.

A party not to be missed is when the 80's pop legends that are Madness grace the stage, although possibly attracting an older crowd their wacky ways, catchy classics and ability to crowd please will bring out the retro raver in us all – I predict a sell out!

Alongside all Ibiza Rocks special guests, resident DJs Doorly and Nicola Bear will be back again after they 'tore up the Rocks dance floors last summer with some sublime sets'. Don't forget that you can carry on the party at the official Ibiza Rocks after show at Es Paradis… and it's free before 1.30am with your Ibiza Rocks gig wristbands!
