Season prelude: Ibiza 2025 is loading...

The downhill slope to summer has begun.

Just like every year, after weeks (months?) of build-up, the festive and New Year period has whizzed by in a haze.

Whether it lived up to the hype, well, that's very much subjective. Personally, I'm more than ready to put the gluttony and merriment behind me and return to the Monday-to-Friday working-week cycle. Reassuring, if predictable.

Brighter days are on the horizon. Squint beyond the clouds, and you can just about notice more hours of daily sunlight. The winter solstice dividend has started to pay out and not a moment too soon. We're craving a top-up of vitamin D. Our tank is running on fumes by this point.

Time to start thinking about a summer getaway or two. The slog towards spring is always that bit more bearable with something firmly in the calendar to look forward to.

Although colder temperatures and the worst of the weather may still be ahead of us (at least in Europe and most of the northern hemisphere), there are plenty of reasons to feel chipper.

Ibiza's almond blossom takes place in January and February

Already, the first shoots of Ibiza 2025 have begun to sprout.

Eden and the Supernova Group have revealed their hand for Thursdays - again shared between SHINE and One More Time, with more dates for Clubland this year.

Amnesia has given us its Opening Party date of Saturday 10 May - always one for the diary. You might as well chalk off Sunday while you're at it. Swimming against the tide of staggered announcements, O Beach has dumped its entire schedule in full. God bless 'em.

elrow's intergalactic promotional trailer set the bar high last month

Perhaps the biggest, though, has been confirmation of elrow's switch to Ibiza's brand new "hyper-club" [UNVRS]. A strong contender for being the worst-kept secret in clubland, it's finally deemed ready for public consumption. Don't worry, there are plenty more twists, turns and mouth-agape shockers to come, but our lips are tightly sealed.

What we can promise you is the single biggest winter shake-up to Ibiza's club landscape, frankly, ever. It's time to ring the changes. There was definitely a sense that things had gotten a bit static the last three summers. That all changes.

Watching everything unfold is going to be almost as fun as being in the thick of it.

Our party calendar is progressing slowly, but will pick up pace any hour, day or week now. It's not a matter of "if" but "when".

Summit Internazionale della Musica | Hyde & Mondrian

IMS music conference returns to Hyde & Mondrian in Cala Llonga from 23 to 25 April

Before the season kicks off at the end of April with International Music Summit and opening weekend, I'm looking to Akasha to again fill the void. With Easter falling very late this year (17 to 20 April), we can almost certainly expect a preview the week before. More news coming soon.

Speaking of Akasha, it throws one final party on Sunday 5 January, before a well-deserved mid-winter break. Quite deliberately, Nido falls on the eve of Three Kings Day - a public holiday here and elsewhere in Spain. Who's about for one last dance before the pause? The baton is picked back up in February.

While the island will feel pretty still in between, there will be plenty of clubbing news churned out.

If you're too impatient to wait for the formal announcements, then you can catch all the latest hot goss on our forum. The rumour mill is already in full swing. Sign up and get involved in the conversation. We're an excitable but friendly bunch.

Of course, the forum comes with a big disclaimer: nothing is confirmed until it is!
