Sven Väth returns to Thailand in 2017

Ibiza's techno Papa revisits Phuket and Koh Samui in the new year

While a large chunk of the world survives under layers of frost and fog over these winter months, certain corners of other continents offer refuge from the cold. Thailand is one of those corners and while the sun is readily available, underground dance music can be hard to source among an endless supply of bucket bars and go-go joints. However, with thanks to Thai country girl turned international DJ, Nakadia, Phuket and Koh Samui are getting visits from Ibiza's dearest Papa Sven.

Earlier this year, Nakadia invited Sven Väth to Phuket night club, Illuzion, and it became the island's clubbing highlight of 2016. On 22 January 2017, Väth returns to do it all over again in what will be Nakadia's second Phuket edition with the German techno starlord. The booth will also be occupied by Wayu – a DJ who runs Phuket's most prominent underground events, Bermudos.

And it doesn't end there for Väth's Thai voyage, as on 27 January 2017, it's Koh Samui's turn for an episode of underground thunder. For a third year in a row at the hands of host, Nakadia, and venue, Cha Cha Moon, Väth will perform a three-hour set with support from Amine K and Nakadia herself.

You can find more info for the Phuket bash here, and as a word of warning concerning Koh Samui, the previous two editions were both sell-outs so stay tuned on the Facebook event page for the ticket grab if you're heading over.
