The wheels on the announcement bus go round and round.

It's quite possible that at some point in 2016 someone snuck us in to a time machine and pressed fast forward, because it's May already and how can that be possible? We've been so knee-deep in news announcements here at Spotlight that we didn't notice summer is basically here already. That means two things: firstly, opening parties are about to start coming faster than the meteor that wiped out the dinosaurs, secondly, the final pieces of the summer puzzle are very shortly going to fall into place. Starting with this lovely lot.


Applebum summer line-ups

News that hip hop was about to strengthen its hold on the White Isle in the form of an Applebum residency at Sankeys was welcomed enthusiastically, and now that the line-ups have dropped we're even more hyped. Turns out we're going to be getting our ghetto on this summer with icons like multi-platinum selling R&B producer, DJ Jazzy Jeff, mixing master, Grandmaster Flash, soulful singers of ‘No Diggity', Blackstreet, legendary hip hop producer, DJ Premier, acclaimed turntablist, DJ Yoda, ‘Gangster's Paradise' rapper, Coolio, and hip hop pioneers, Sugarhill Gang. They'll be joined by the equally noteworthy Slum Village, DJ Yella (NWA), Nightmares on Wax, The Furious Five, DJ Craze and Doorly, among many more. Holla.

Kygo locks in Ushuaïa dates

Super producer, Kygo, will descend on Ushuaïa Ibiza for three explosive dates this summer, alongside a range of top talent who'll be there to set off the air horns. Standing shoulder to shoulder with the much-lauded Norwegian will be Felix Jaehn, Thomas Jack, Jonas Blue, Michael Calfan, Sam Feldt, Bakermat, Klingande and more, so turn up on 14th July, 28th July or 25th August to secure your front row spot.

Privilege opening party line-up

The biggest club in the world has shed light on the joys that await us for its opening party on Friday 27th May. Propping up the main room will be Spanish wunderkind Danny Avila, German-born producer Tujamo, chart topping Switzerland-based DJ and producer EDX, French mastermind Quentin Mosimann, Ibiza based house DJ B Jones and a live performance from vocalist Nalaya. Over in Vista Club we'll have a sunrise edition, where doors will open at 04:30 AM for a techno takeover. Headlining will be Iranian-American progressive house DJ and producer and one half of Deep Dish, Sharam, as well as Yaya, Luna, City Express, Deborah de Luca and Heath Holme.

Rhythm & Waves at Cova Santa

Something new for 2016 now, as Amnesia and Together have teamed up to bring us some bass-heavy sessions at outdoor venue, Cova Santa. Rhythm & Waves will play host to Rudimental, Tinie Tempah and Chase & Status as well as chart-topping support artists Katy B and Monki. Three dates have been scheduled for Thursday 7th July, 14th July, and 21st July.

VIVa Warriors line-ups released

Steve Lawler has unveiled an abundance of DJ talent for his fifth season at the helm of popular Sankeys party, VIVa Warriors. Joining him in the basement every Sunday from 19th June to 25th September will be Groove Armada, Hot Since 82, Eats Everything, Skream, Dennis Ferrer, Huxley, B.Traits, Santé & Sidney Charles, wAFF, Route 94, Nathan Barato, Denney, Leftwing & Kody, Mark Jenkyns, Jaymo & Andy George and Detlef. Mathew Jonson and Guti will also be performing live.

Carl Cox final line-ups

The undisputed big daddy of 2016 parties has made its intentions clear with a final and blistering line-up announcement. Joining Carl Cox for his Final Chapter at Space will be drum and bass legend LTJ Bukem, Dutch dicer Joris Voorn, Madhouse records co-owner Kerri Chandler, techno veteran Dubfire, revered DJs Marco Bailey, Stefano Noferini and Steve Mulder, Slovenian DJ UMEK and in-demand dubstep producer Artwork. Elsewhere we'll have exclusive appearances from DJs debuting with Coxy including Ben Pearce, Danny Howells, Mistress Barbara, Drumcomplex & Roel Salemink, as well as Popof going b2b with Julian Jeweil.

More names confirmed for Sundays at Space

A long list of names have already been confirmed for the finest fiesta in town, Sundays at Space, but added to the already bulging roster are legends like James Zabiela, DJ Sneak, Matador and Tom Novy, as well as Alan Fitzpatrick, Fritz Kalkbrenner, Huxley, Maribou State and UNER. Local heroes like the Melon Bomb crew, Sean Hughes and Little Prince will also be making appearances, proving the dedication to diversity always embodied by Sundays at Space remains strong.

Judge Jules back at Eden

The law-maker is back and he means business. Every Friday between 24th June and 23rd September, Judge Jules will be in session at Eden for Judgement - a UV party that'll be attended by the likes of Son of 8, Jaguar Skills, Eddie Halliwell, Charli XCX, Sander van Doorn, Blonde, 99 Souls and many more.

Space opening party line-up

It's no surprise that for its final ever year, Space has come out all guns blazing with its opening party line-up. Scheduled for Sunday 29th May, you can expect an extravaganza of a party courtesy of Darius Syrossian, Sasha, Technasia, Booka Shade, Roger Sanchez, Hector, Erick Morillo, James Zabiela, Jason Bye, Pig & Dan, Dennis Ferrer and Yousef. As well as homegrown Spanish talent in the form of Andres Campo, George Privatti, Roman Castells, Coyu, Hector Couto, Wally Lopez and Ibiza's own, Oscar Colorado. A little bit of history is going to be made here - you'd be mad to miss it.

Wax da Jam returns

One of our favourite parties returns in 2016, adding a dash of happy-go-lucky eccentricity to summer 2016 proceedings. Wax da Jam has confirmed it will be back for four dates in San Carlos this summer, on Thursday 2nd June, Thursday 14th July, Thursday 11th August and Thursday 8th September. Heading up the season debut will be Andrew Ashong, the British-Ghanian singer, producer and DJ, who'll be playing live in the garden, Ibiza Sonica's Andy Wilson and Jon Sa Trinxa in the courtyard and Nightmares on Wax, Negghead and once again, Andrew Ashong in the club

Martin Solveig announces first guests

Pint-sized Parisian, Martin Solveig, has drafted in some huge names to fill his My House party at Pacha this summer. So far we can reveal megawatt DJ-producer Diplo, DJ and super producer Mark Ronson, future house pioneer Tchami, Berlin-based Boys Noize, French deep house producer The Avener, English deep house duo Blonde, bass-heavy house producer Shadow Child, electronic dance group Clean Bandit, house virtuoso The Magician and EDM maverick Dillon Francis, with more to be announced in coming weeks.

Do Not Sleep confirms residents

Do Not Sleep continues to go from strength to strength, this year securing a residency at Space on Sundays. Action kicks off on Sunday 5th June and continues until 25th September, and each week you'll have Darius Syrossian on hand to whip you into the party spirit like an egg white. Nick Curly will also have a monthly slot, as will Alan Fitzpatrick, who'll host the Discoteca on four dates throughout summer. Performing alongside the residents is a host of carefully curated names including Anja Schneider, Deetron, Derrick Carter, Dusky, Guti (live), Hector Couto, Huxley, Kölsch, Matador, Yousef, and many more.

ONYX first line-ups

New on the Space roster for 2016, ONYX has come out all guns blazing with a line-up boasting the crème de le crème of the techno world for its Monday night mash up. So far on the bill are names including Josh Wink, Monika Kruse, Dave Clarke, Rebekah, Alan Fitzpatrick, Harvey Mckay and B.Traits. Plus Karenn and Surgeon & Lady Starlight, who'll be making their Ibiza debuts, Blawan who'll go b2b with Dasha Rush and Slam who'll go b2b with Gary Beck. Fritz Kalkbrenner, Oxia and Redshape will be the only other house music anomalies to an otherwise solid techno unit, with Redshape set to perform live. Also buckled in for live performances are Benjamin Damage, Gaiser and Clockwork & Avitism.
