Detroit Love lands at Sankeys

Bow down to techno's Detroit roots at Sankeys this summer.

Detroit, in its state of abandoned distress, was the breeding ground that stole imaginations, transplanted them to the future and as a consequence, gave us the thudding pulse of techno. Without it our musical landscape would be unrecognisable and that's a fact Sankeys values as its adding, to its full-on weekly showdown, a residency from one of techno's figureheads that pays homage to its birthplace.

Detroit Love, the brainchild of Carl Craig, is joining Unusual Suspects with 15 summer events in the LAB every Thursday from 7th July to 13th October. Ibiza first got a dose of Detroit devotion in 2015 at Space, and as summer rolled into winter, Detroit Love supported the launch of the Unusual Suspects off-season residency. Now back for a summer season, sitting with one of Sankeys' Seven Wonders, its techno fixed line-up is of course loaded with artists mostly from Detroit, including two of the infamous Beleville Three Kevin Saunderson and Derrick May, as well as Carl Craig himself, Floorplan, Delano Smith, Kenny Larkin, Stacey Pullen, Octave One (live), Omar-S and Dantiez Saunderson (Kevin Saunderson's son). Detroit natives aside, we have artists heavily inspired by Detroit's sounds in the form of Green Velvet, Dubfire, Gaiser, Matthew Dear, Moodymann and Paul Woolford, with more to be added to both camps.

Sankeys' Seven Wonders has been in the public domain for over a month and while we were already sitting here more than satisfied with its schedule, this is a much welcomed surprise addition to the week. With the LAB's powerful Pioneer speaker system, Detroit Love is going to be an absolute blinder.

Tickets now on sale for just 20€.
