Let Techno For Humanity commence

Ida Engberg initiates fundraiser for Syrian refugees

Moved by the recent flood of information we've been struck with from Syrians fleeing their war-torn country, Ida Engberg has set up a charity project, Techno For Humanity, to put on fundraising events and help those suffering. The first is taking place next week in Belgium on September 17th, which plenty of DJs have signed up for since its announcement.

Ida first asked what we could do to help on Facebook, suggesting a techno event to raise money. An idea sitting well with many, seven hours later Ida confirming it was already in the making. As she links up with IKON Antwerp, a charity night of techno music will promote awareness of the crisis, helping to send a conscious response from the dance community. Gathering for escapism isn't always so vapid.

There's a mammoth bill playing on the night across the three rooms. Including Adam Beyer, Ida Engberg herself, Davide Squillace, Matthias Tanzmann, Guti, Marc Houle, Heidi, Christian Smith, Yousef and Marco Faraone too showing support. Representing Belgium on the night shall be RENEE, Tofke, Ugur Yurt, Raw District and Kapibara.

Revenues will be equally divided to charities dedicated to aiding hospitality: Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) International, Migrant Offshore Aid Station, International Rescue Committee and The UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR).

Those that can't make it but wish to join in, sets from the main room will be streamed live all night over at Be-At.TV. For further information and tickets, check out the organisation's Facebook page here and donate what you can.
