Yesterday night the biggest club in the world, Privilege, began its season on the white island and Spotlight thoroughly enjoyed this celebration for all tastes. The nightspot offered a master class of what they have prepared for this summer: three rooms with different music proposals that not only will host big international artists but also will encourage new talents and genres of the electronic music industry.
Shortly before the clock stroke 02:00 am, the surrounding area began to fill with people who wanted to enjoy the party from the beginning. The two rooms called Vista had still not been opened and the main room was filling progressively with Pep and Rash's grooves. The Holland duo, who came into the spotlight less than one year ago thanks to the bootleg of Promesses, Tchami's song, was playing minimal and future house sounds throughout the one hour and a half DJ set, where we could hear tracks like My Window of Don Diablo or I Could Be Wrong of Chocolate Puma, which were cheered by the public.
When Vista Club, the incredible glazed room from where millions of people saw the sunrise, opened its doors, the people started to move. The DJ booth was held down by the session that will host Sundays at Privilege from July to the end of the season, Do Not Sleep, characterized for techno and pure house music. The British artist ambassador of Toolroom label, Weiss, started a set without missing classics themes as Yourself from Reset Robot or the Fariseo's Anonio Grassia remix.
At 3:00 in the morning, one of the most expected moments from the night, the back-to-back between Heidi and Cajmere, gave beginning to a three hour set by the hand of two house masters. The complicity between them favoured the ambient, attracting people and filling the dance floor. Cajmere threw out tracks like Show You Sonny, Percolator or Satisfy besides the remixes like Pusher by Mark Henning that showed up all the authentic house essence of Ibiza.
While the two producers kept going with their funny back-to-back, over in the main room the British artist better known as Example represented the mainstream face of the party with a mic in the hand and coupled by DJ Wire. The firsts beats of super known tracks like We'll Be Coming of Calvin Harris or Intoxicated by Martin Solveig made the people move their bodies -hands up, obviously.
The third of Privilege's rooms, Vista Blue, was the last one to open its doors, hosting Vidal Rodriguez, Blue Marlin resident, followed by Hauswerks, who has launched some tracks under the ViVa Music label and B-NY, and who mastered the DJ booth during the night. Vista Blue was a really successful bid which served as a shuttle for lesser-known artists.
While the braves were enjoying an opening that went on until after 11:00 am, we were walking to our homes with a great aftertaste and a big ovation to Privilege, who knew how to offer a realistic advance of the season. Taking into account that they did not have the biggest line-up, the nightclub proved that you can't judge an album by its cover with a gamble of new talents and diversity of music genres. Privilege showed with mastery that this season, their sessions won't let anyone down.
