Well we're charging into peak season right now at Ibiza Spotlight, but we always have time for Pikes. Starting this Friday the 4th of July, Ibiza Rocks House at Pikes will play host to a new party, concocted by the terrifically twisted minds of Skin (lead singer of Skunk Anansie) and DJ Smokin Jo.
These two tigers have been mates for years, but only recently discovered the electricity that sparks when they join forces behind the decks. All that energy has to be released somehow, so they've channeled it into four special dates across the summer at the only venue weird and wonderful enough to fit the bill. Electric Tiger Cave will be a fun, flamboyant and freaky shindig where you could hear anything from deep house, tech house, old school, vocal house… basically anything with fat beats, a solid groove and a unique hook can find its way to your ears via Skin and Smokin Jo's musical endeavours on the night. The pair will play back-to-back but there'll be no rest for the wicked – when one is DJing the other will be swanning across the dance floor, making sure everyone is involved in Electric Tiger Cavin' with them!
You can expect Skin to jump on the mic too of course, plus guest DJ sets from Nicole Moudaber, Severino (Horsemeat Disco) and more, drag queens, cabaret performers and a few surprises. Pikes has long been a haven for musical celebrities, and many of these musicians have taken the next step over the years and thrown their own events, always on a relatively small scale but with memorable success.
