Music On 2013: Marco Carola returns to Amnesia

Marco Carola brings the techno back to Amnesia's Friday night slot.

In 2012, Marco Carola split off from his Cocoon family, for whom he'd been playing with for many years, and started his own party. Friday nights at Amnesia took on an entirely new atmosphere and music policy from the previous year (2011), where MTV Ibiza (now working with Ibiza Rocks) laid on such artists as Snoop Dogg and Primal Scream, with a strong focus on tough techno from the Italian and his band of artist mates.

There was no doubt that Fridays on Amnesia's terrace in particular were great parties and hugely successful during their debut season, with acts like Leon, Joseph Capriati and Stacey Pullen (who all return this year) owning the space. Admittedly, the main room was less busy for the most part... probably on account of the majority being there to see Marco Carola play the terrace himself, but with the redesign of the Amnesia main room (lowering of the DJ booth to a more neck-friendly level) and looking at the lineups for that room we don't predict this will happen again.

Still, big things are happening with Music On this year, where the tagline is ‘it's all about the music', with some great lineups all announced. Marco Carola plays all 16 parties as the main headliner, with the exception for one on the 30th August, where Carl Cox will join him.

Lineup highlights include Joseph Capriati, Jamie Jones, Loco Dice, tINI (B2B with Bill Patrick), Stacey Pullen, DJ Sneak, Pan Pot, two parts of the Visionquest crew and Nicole Moudaber. Unlike some parties, the nights start well with some really strong lineups early on in the season - setting the tone right through till the closing. The parties run from Friday 14th June until the closing on the 27th September.

Tickets will be available soon through Spotlight.
