Live music

You can listen to live music like rock, jazz and blues for free in many bars around the island if you want a break from dance music.

Try Teatro Ibiza in Ibiza Town, Es Birrá in Es Caná, the famous multi-purpose venue Las Dalias in San Carlos or Can Jordi Blues Station on the road from Ibiza Town to San José.

Many restaurants also offer low-key live music for adding to the atmosphere, whilst others have a full-blown dinner show with music and entertainment

Each town and village also puts on live music bands during the many fiesta celebrations around their patron saints' days. Furthermore, many markets on Ibiza also offer live music, enhancing the vibrant atmosphere.

Orchestras

There are several orchestras on the island that put on concerts of both classical music and interpretations of contemporary themes, for example, from the world of film.

Look out for events from the Ibiza Symphony Orchestra (Orquestra Sinfònica Ciutat d'Eivissa) and the City of Ibiza Big Band (Big Band Ciutat d'Eivissa).

Jazz festivals

On Ibiza, we have not one, but two large Jazz Festivals, featuring local and international artists - the Ibiza Jazz Festival at the end of August/beginning of September, held at stunning locations in and around Dalt Vila, the citadel of Ibiza Town.

And Jazz Point Ibiza, an international jazz festival in October, showcasing some of the biggest names on the international jazz scene at different venues on the island.

On the sister island of Formentera, you can enjoy jazz for a whole weekend at the beginning of June, at the Formentera Jazz Festival

Concerts, theatre and other cultural events

In Ibiza Town, the Can Ventosa cultural centre puts on a diverse programme of events with many shows and concerts by local orchestras and bands as well as live dance, theatrical performances and special kids' shows. Furthermore, the town council publishes cultural events here (in Spanish).

In Santa Eulalia, the Ibiza Convention Centre (Palacio de Congresos de Ibiza) has a huge auditorium, which is used for theatrical and other performances, and you will see some very good exhibitions here too. The Teatro España on the main road also offers a varied set of events with theatrical showings, as well as dance performances. You can also catch the latest film releases which are put on in the auditorium. See our cinema page for more details.

In San Antonio, the Sa Punta des Molí Cultural Centre organises all kinds of cultural activities. San José also offers a diverse programme of cultural activities, which are published in its calendar.
