Guatemala to be the first stop in the Las Dalias Around The World Project

Ibiza’s legendary hippie market will visit Guatemala in February on a pioneering journey that aims to explore the roots of its global community.

Renowned for its international and multicultural ethos, Las Dalias market is launching Las Dalias Around The World, a series of journeys designed to promote cultural and social responsibility.

Over the coming years, the Las Dalias team plans to travel all over the globe to discover the heart and soul behind each product found in the famed market.

Many of the handicrafts sold at Las Dalias originate from workshops that sustain families and even entire communities in their home countries, promoting fair trade.

What's more, during each trip, Las Dalias will provide financial support to charitable initiatives as part of its corporate responsibility program, DAR.

Joan Marí, who founded the market back in the 1980s, points out that in its 70-year history, this unique San Carlos venue “...has welcomed people from 80 nationalities around the world, who have brought their culture, wisdom, and traditions, filling the market with light and colour.” Now, it is time to make the return journey, visiting the places where these artisans live, work, and create during the winter months.

A delegation from Las Dalias will visit the Central American nation from 24 January to 5 February on a transformative cultural and spiritual journey, led by Guatemalan market coordinator Isabel Lambour. The trip will explore traditional markets, handicrafts, and ancestral ceremonies, highlighting the deep connection with the Mayan worldview.

Social Collaboration: Jun Imox Project

As part of its commitment to social responsibility, Las Dalias will donate funds to the Jun Imox community in the tiny town of San Pedro La Laguna. Located on the shores of Lago de Atitlán - in the southwest of the country - the town is a well-known backpacker destination.

The Jun Imox community centre fosters ancestral education through healing and learning workshops led by spiritual guides and local leaders.
