DJ Awards honours the class of 2024 at glitzy Chinois bash

A fitting finale to another incredible summer of clubbing capers.

After a five year hiatus, the DJ Awards made a triumphant return with a spectacular ceremony at Chinois Ibiza last week. The night saw an incredible turnout of both industry A-Listers and electronic music fanatics.

Hosted by BBC Radio 1's Jaguar and industry personality Katie Knight, the event honoured the class of 2024 with recognition in key categories.

The genre awards saw heavyweight wins for Black Coffee as he took home the Afro category, Defected's Sam Divine crowned in House and Vintage Culture winning Tech House.

In Trance, legend Armin van Buuren reigned supreme, while Sven Väth won Techno. Chase & Status picked up the gong for their impact in Drum & Bass, while WhoMadeWho were awarded the Organic House category and CAMELPHAT conquered in Progressive House.

Other major accolades included FISHER, named International DJ of the Year, while Miss Monique claimed Breakthrough DJ. The Live Act award went to Roísín Murphy.

The prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Javier Anadon, founder of sunset hotspot Café Mambo, for his businesses' enduring influence.

Other panel-picked awards celebrated Luciano, who received the Ibiza Icon Award presented by Ibiza Global Radio. David Guetta's F*** ME I'M FAMOUS! at Ushuaïa and Future Rave at Hï Ibiza were honoured with the Best Ibiza Party award.

Finally, comeback king Michael Bibi was recognised for his One Life campaign, which culminated at a sell-out party at Ushuaïa last month. What a feel-good story.

The night ended with a glitzy after party, featuring sets by Luciano, Cristoph and more.

With confirmation that the DJ Awards will be back in 2025, bigger and better than ever, we eagerly anticipate what next year on Ibiza will bring.
