Kumharas: the Bay of San Antonio's top sunset spot and much more…

Music, street food, fashion and cool vibes aplenty.

Ever since the late 1990s -  when it opened - Kumharas has been the go-to spot in San Antonio Bay for those who appreciate a unique boho setting, tasty international street food, a great musical backdrop and the chance to savour a nice cocktail while admiring the sunset.

Nowadays its popularity is greater than ever and it draws customers from San Antonio and far beyond, keen to soak up the vibes as the sun sets over the bay and the islets offshore in a magnificent splash of colours.

We chose the occasion of one of its regular vinyl record markets to check it out in its latest incarnation. The bright pink Kumharas sign atop the tower is a beacon for fun lovers everywhere.

The venue retains all its appeal. There´s the buzzing bar located on the ground floor of a beautifully restored pirate lookout tower and the expansive terrace front and back.

Add to that the unusual open-air, arched structure that housed the vinyl record market and the central booth from which the DJs play their mix of upbeat chillout tracks.

Those in search of some handcrafted clothes and jewellery will find some nice items at the onsite boutiques.

Between the venue and the waterline, there's a rocky shore where people mingle as they take in the jaw-dropping views.

Kumharas has street food trucks serving up scrumptious fare from all corners of the globe. Diners can enjoy sushi, burgers, hot dogs, gyozas and vegan options, nourishing poke bowls and generous platters of Mexican fare including nachos and tacos.

For something sweet, there's a bakery offering homemade pastries and cakes.

With all the above and a constantly changing roster of events, activities and DJs, it deserves to occupy the top rank of your Ibiza bucket list.

Tables cannot be pre-booked, so roll up early to find a good seat.
