Lissy Lü in real life | Ibiza to Mallorca

Misadventures in clubland. 19 to 22 August.

Top raver, booth infiltrator and our very own AM to PM girl, Lissy Lübeck is back on Ibiza for summer 2024, which means another weekly serving of misadventures in clubland. Here, Lissy shares her thoughts, experiences and inner musings direct from the dancefloor.

A year older, perhaps. But a year wiser? Nah.

If you heard it from anybody else, you'd dismiss it as hyperbole, but Lissy Lü's real life is like that... Partying as a profession is a hard life, but somebody's got to do it!

Ibiza to Mallorca

19 to 22 August

Monday

Monday saw my second gig at Amnesia, warming up The Terrace! It's come around so quickly, I can't quite believe that I’m back here again and it’s nearly September already. Can summer slow down, please?

Lissy Lü in real life

Having already played in July and now more familiar with the set-up, I was definitely a lot more confident this time around. Though I’ve been in this booth countless times as press, it’s a lot more daunting when it's you in control of the decks!

Anyway, I was very happy with how it went, and there was a lovely turnout from team Spotlight! I feel very privileged.

Tuesday

Today, I was off to Mallorca to warm up at BCM with my girl Paisley Jensen, before FISHERDanny Howard and Arielle Free at Nothing Else Matters. It gave me a little insight as to what life would be like as a touring DJ.

We hopped over on a very suspect looking plane, in which we encountered a ropey landing, but hey, we're still here to tell the tale! With a quick turnaround upon arrival, we checked in to the hotel and headed to Siso Beach for some dinner before heading to the club.

Our set time was 23:00 to 00:30, so we got to the club just before to check out the space and get in the groove.

A classic DJ malfunction, my USB did not sync the playlist I had specifically made for the party, despite checking it twice before I left. Luckily, Paisley came through with the tunes and managed to keep the energy high with her signature blends of old school House and well-known classics.

FISHER delivered an incredible high octane set (as per), and I loved every minute of it. There’s something about that guy that makes me smile from ear to ear.

I honestly didn't know how Arielle would keep the vibe on that level after such an incredible set from Fish, but never underestimate her. She absolutely smashed it and I was in awe of her tune selection and mixing.

We left just before the end and made our way back to the hotel with a little KFC as a nightcap.

Thursday

Tired is an understatement. After three nights out on the trot and a long day at theHUB, I was ready for bed by 19:00. I fell asleep for around two hours, before waking up just in time for one of the biggest moments in my career so far: my first ever radio play!

BBC Introducing

I submitted a track to BBC Introducing a few weeks ago and on Tuesday I woke up to an email saying that Jaguar had selected me as one of her new artists of the week! I tuned in at 22:30 UK time and 15 minutes later, boom - my track Mad Love was being played live on Radio 1.

What a moment for me! I’ve listened to Radio 1 for ten plus years, Shazamming dance tracks and finding new artists, so to now be on there myself is surreal.

I've got a feeling there's a journey coming for this track, so you'll just have to wait and see how the story unfolds...

Beach of the week

A new spot for me, on Sunday I went to Cala Vadella with Lucy, Chantelle and Taisya for a day of leisure in the sunshine.

I had never been to this beach before, and I have to say its now one of my favourites! With a large choice of restaurants along the whole length, some of which even offer table service to the beach, it was a super chilled vibe, with a mixture of families, friends and couples.

We swam, Chan paddle boarded, we had some great girly catch-ups and ended up having an early dinner at one of the restaurants. I would one hundred per cent recommend Cala Vadella for those of you looking or a chilled out beach to perch yourself on your holiday.

Party radar

Josh Baker presents You&Me | Cova Santa | Thursday 29 August

Have you ever seen a line-up more up my street than this? Nah, didn’t think so.

We’ve all been waiting for Josh Baker to throw his own party on the island and it is finally happening! Not only will he be there, but he'll be joined by Max Dean, Voigtmann, Marsolo and Alexandria - four of my favourite DJs/producers.

From 19:00 to 05:00 his label and party You&Me will be taking over Cova Santa, another of my favourite island venues for a night of musical magic. So arrive early, as its for sure going to be a sell out. Also, you don't want to miss the magic of the Terrace during sunset, before it moves into the cave club.

Whisper from the dancefloor

In case you've been living under a rock, Privilege's replacement [UNVRS] was unveiled at the start of the week and sent social media into meltdown. Although the new club won't open until summer 2025, already rumours are abound about what residencies might take place there...

Ibiza 2025 could see the single biggest reset to the clubbing landscape the island has ever seen!

Tune of the week

Nautica | Sexy Dancer | TYDE | 23 August

Under the moniker of Nautica, Liverpudlian DJ and production duo Josh Lewis and Caolan Savage are rising quickly onto the scene. They're back with their latest single, Sexy Dancer.

Known for their signature blend of soulful Deep House infused with Chicago vibes and UK Garage influences, Nautica has crafted a summer anthem that's for sure already been played on some Ibiza dancefloors.

Sexy Dancer combines an infectious vocal hook with deep basslines and melodic overtones, showcasing the duo's ability to create groove-laden tracks that captivate and energise.

After an Eden debut for Abode x Kaluki earlier this month, the duo are bound to be back next summer as they continue to elevate their sound.

Thirsty for more misadventures in clubland? Lissy Lü will be taking leave from dancefloor diary duties next week, but Jo will be on hand in her absence to make sure you don't miss out on any island action.
