Stroll down the winding wooden deck that leads to Beachouse Ibiza and you’ll find an exceptional bohemian haven awaiting you on the sandy shores of Playa d’en Bossa.
Offering equal measures of laid-back and deluxe appeal, Beachouse Ibiza is the complete dining and musical experience which just celebrated its landmark tenth anniversary earlier this month.
Although the paradisiacal beach club feels a million miles away from the go-getting party centre of Playa d’en Bossa, don’t be misled into believing that anything less than a vibrant atmosphere awaits you.
On Sunday evenings, we move to the immersive sound of Arkadyan present Voyage. A journey into the Dubai-based electro-instrumental collective’s worldly influences and handpicked roster of weekly guests who share in their quest to perform music for the mind, body and soul.
Curiously enticed, we ventured to join Arkadyan’s latest Voyage at Beachouse Ibiza.
Sipping at sundown
Walking out onto the terrace to our shore view table, Beachouse Ibiza is already abuzz with mingling guests dressed to embrace the bohemian mantra.
Browsing the cocktail menu leaves little to the inner mixologist’s imagination with a variety of signature and classic cocktails to swoon over.
The Bow Tie Paloma left a lasting impression on my palate from Beachouse Ibiza’s tenth birthday party, making it an obvious choice. Swirling flavours of grapefruit, lime, and coconut fat-washed Patrón Silver Tequila, it’s an ideal match for those like myself who opt for refreshing and lightly bitter versus overly sweet in their cocktail selection.
Many a Mezcalista also flowed at our table. Extending a personal invitation to tastes of the Caribbean through sweet pineapple and lime, and a spicy kick of jalapeño infused mezcal, and bergamot liqueur.
The Bloody Mary proved a winner with our own in-house connoisseur of the classic cocktail, Lissy Lü, and the non-alcoholic alternative packs the same flavoursome punch.
Dine to dance
To start, we tucked into shared starter plates, which included warm rustic bread and aioli served with fresh tomato, crispy calamari and fluffy prawn croquettes topped with caviar and a side of yuzu and lime mayonnaise to dip.
A glance in the direction of the dancefloor shows that guests are already starting to gather and unwind in front of the DJ booth with a drink in hand. Eager to join in the dancing just shortly, the nourishing green courgette pappardelle in a basil and pesto sauce coated with pine nuts was perfectly light yet filling.
Meanwhile, across the table, a grilled beef sirloin served with seasoned sweetcorn ribs, piquillo peppers and potatoes was hitting the spot.
With room left over for something sweet, our indulgent inclination led us to order Beachouse Ibiza’s famous tiramisu.
Honouring the classic recipe and crafted to be shared between friends, our spoons broke through a powdered chocolate layer, to scoop a delicious cream and amaretto-soaked sponge that kept us coming back for more.
Feeling well satiated, it was finally time to get in amongst the busied dancefloor.
Enter Arkadyan's Voyage
After making cameo appearances at Beachouse Ibiza’s decadent BOHO nights, Arkadyan have been given free rein to take over Sunday evenings, and the result is an evening of musical delights.
The trio have become synonymous with a fabric of electronic music that weaves live instrumental and organic grooves into deeply hypnotic sets and as dusk begins to fall that’s exactly the experience we encounter.
Warmed by the Minimalist tones of Frenchman and guest DJ Demayä, the intimate crowd is in a let-loose state of mind as Arkadyan enter the Voyage.
The Sunday night residents know exactly how to work the chic clientele’s sonic agenda of connectivity and forge into the depths of Afro House and tribal percussion between original and celebrated drops.
Tempting a higher tempo, Marina commands from behind the decks whilst Benjy and Gabriel bring the terrace alive with live drum and trumpet instrumentals evoking the ecstatic dancefloor to throw their hands up in the air and get lost in the moment.
The party reached a frenetic crescendo at midnight and feeling replenished and spiritually rejuvenated, we were ready for the dawn of a new week.
On Wednesday 31 July, Arkadyan present Voyage upscales from Beachouse to the decadent dancefloor of Club Chinois in the Ibiza Marina for a one-off takeover. Celebrating with a worldwide roster, Arkadyan will be joined by BOHO resident Bruz, Yana Mann and special guest Stephen Jolk.
