About Defected
Putting it mildly, Defected is the most dominant force in the world of House music. The label, party series, radio station and clothing line is global and has been doing its thing since 1999. That makes this year extra special, as it celebrates 25 years or Defected XXV as it's being called.
Since 2001, it's had a presence on Ibiza and is really part of the fabric of our club scene. Down the years, Defected has held residence at El Divino, many years at Pacha, the ill-fated Booom!, a single summer at Amnesia and most recently spent five seasons at Eden in San Antonio.
However, it's all change for summer 2024, as Defected goes east to Ushuaïa!
Curious to learn more? We answer the big questions: when? where? who? and how?
When?
Every Tuesday daytime, from 7 May to 1 October | 17:00 'til 23:00
Defected has switched days almost as much as it's switched clubs, previously throwing parties on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. It's even had a Tuesday slot before, the one summer (2015) it was at Amnesia with Together, but it's never had a weekly daytime residency - until now.
Where?
Palatial party hotel Ushuaïa - found at the south end of Playa d'en Bossa.
Capable of holding up to 7,000 rave-ready holidaymakers, Ushuaïa is the ultimate outdoor party experience. You're highly likely to fly over the club as you land, so get a good glimpse peering out of your window seat. Hours later, you could be stood below with your arms in the air.

Who?
Defected has a little black book of House legends it has worked with down the years, and they are all too happy to reciprocate their support.
Louie Vega (pictured above, six dates including 9 July as part of Masters At Work and 27 August alongside wife Anané with The Ritual), Groove Armada (21 May, 20 August and 10 September), DJ EZ (14 May and 16 July) and Kerri Chandler (18 June) all have legendary status.
The party doesn't rely on any one single protagonist, though. Instead, it has a supply of trusted residents to call upon, many of whom have been nurtured by the label from the start of their careers.
Sam Divine (pictured above, 12 appearances), Low Steppa (11), Rio Tashan (6), Riva Starr and Hannah Wants (both 5), Arielle Free (4) and Monki (2) are all involved.
The roster also includes some of the new generation pushing through. Dunmore Brothers, Olive F and Paisley Jensen are part of the young crop of DJs who'll be shaping the scene in years to come.
There's also a bigger focus on the sub-genre known as Afro House, with appearances scheduled for Kitty Amor, Kid Fonque, FKA Mash and Atmos Blaq.
Biggest week?
Guy and Howard from Disclosure dropping by for a DJ set later this month on 25 June is pretty massive. They always keep their Ibiza appearances limited, so this is a rare opportunity.
The stage couldn't be bigger.
What they said
"Defected has always been about creating unforgettable moments on the dancefloor. In our 25th year, this is more than just a party. It's a celebration of music, togetherness and the magic of Ibiza. What better way to do it than under the sun at one of the island's most renowned dancefloors?
Defected's new Tuesday residency will provide a perfect daytime experience for fans of House music. We are thrilled to be making Ushuaïa our new Ibiza home. We look forward to inviting everyone to join us in creating memories that will last a lifetime."
- Wez Saunders, Defected CEO
Did you know?
Defected actually held pre-parties at Ushuaïa during the party hotel's first year, back when it was still at Pacha in 2011. Aside from Sam Divine, though, the line-up looked quite different back then (Chocolate Puma, Copyright and Kid Creme were just some of the names from the past).
And for a further bit of trivia, Defected also threw DFTD parties up on Ushuaïa Tower's rooftop in summer 2013, so the relationship is not as new as some might think.
A set to get you in the mood
It all kicked off for Defected at Ushuaïa just a month ago. Feast upon this back-to-back closing set between Dennis Ferrer and Eats Everything. That should put you bang in the mood!
