Food review: STK Ibiza lights our fire

The white island’s unique dinner-dance extravaganza simply has to be experienced.

Earlier this week the Ibiza Spotlight team returned to one of our favourite places to review, STK Ibiza. And as always, we were wowed! And who wouldn’t be given the outstanding cuisine, and impeccable service? Add the high-energy atmosphere, funky music, and beautifully choreographed routines by talented performers and you have the perfect start to your evening out in Ibiza.

After a very warm welcome from the genial manager, Sebastián, and our super server for the night, Meri, we were seated in prime position, one of the comfy, semi-circular couches that surround the stage.

The cosy booths in STK are perfect because they let you interact with other people while enjoying the show together.

With perfect timing, our cocktails enter from stage left. Let the culinary show begin.

Minutes into the dinner, the lights were dimmed and the first of the evening’s dazzling dance sequences began.  Marvellously choreographed, the provocative performances really enlivened the atmosphere.

Our first main dish was the beautifully presented seafood platter. There's nothing like digging and scraping with knives and forks to get the last succulent morsel out. Sometimes it takes two of you. Perhaps surprisingly for a venue so closely associated with meat, STK Ibiza also offers yummy fish and seafood.

By this point, the place was jumping. The spotlight swept the room, highlighting the suggestive, seductive dance routines, outrageous contortionists, roving magicians and masseuses. It’s the kind of pageant you won’t forget in a hurry.

Ever attentive, Meri ensured our glasses were always full and our requests were fulfilled in no time. She then proceeded to bring us main dish number two. Two platters, one of steak, the other of ribs, each with its attendant sauces and signature side dishes. Talk about melt-in-the-mouth tenderness!

As the night progressed, groups of gourmands arrived, both small and large in number. They ranged from young hipsters and exquisitely turned out female holidaymakers to a party of older diners whose enthusiasm knew no bounds. It was a convivial mixture. There’s no question that STK Ibiza is the ideal place to hold a special celebration with friends.

Finally, the hours having flown past, it was time for dessert. The New York Cheesecake with Morello cherries was simply scrumptious. But it was the Petit Fours, complete with mini Montgolfier balloon suspended above, that blew us away.

All good things come to an end, eventually. The ever-alert staff bid us farewell. Filled with delectable food and abuzz with the venue’s high-octane energy, we made our way out into the night air of Marina Botafoch, the lights of the port twinkling across the water.

STK, is not a place you want to miss out on so book in advance here
