Each year brings change to Ibiza's club scene, some big (hello The Masquerade by Claptone!), some subtle. It's sad when the band breaks up, but change has a habit of opening up new avenues. As four become two at Amnesia Presents, that's exactly what's happening...
Hosts Sonny Fodera and Danny Howard continue at Amnesia on Monday nights into their third year together. They are back on the Terrace every week from 17 June to 30 September.
However, since the numbers in their ranks have reduced, that has opened up the opportunity for weekly guests joining them. After another hugely successful summer in 2023, that really felt like a missing piece of the jigsaw. See what we meant about opportunity in heartbreak?
That's not the only noteworthy change.
After being a single-room party last year, 2024 sees Amnesia Presents expand to two rooms as the Club Room is brought back into play.
Mixing things up, room two will have a slightly experimental feel by Ibiza standards. Putting the focus on fresh talent and moving just a little bit off-centre with the music policy, the Club Room will have an identity entirely its own.
Garage, Dubstep and bassier sounds will come courtesy of Girls Don't Sync, Interplanetary Criminal, Oppidan, Sammy Virji and Yung Singh.
Whilst that is forward-thinking and ballsy, there's also room for a pair of legends. Todd Edwards and DJ EZ, who starred in his appearances at Amnesia Presents in 2022, are also involved.
Change doesn't have to be bad. Change is often good. Very good indeed.
