About Clockwork Orange
Named after Kubrick's cinematic masterpiece, Clockwork Orange started on home soil in the UK in 1993. Gatecrashing Ibiza a year later, it reigned at Es Paradis between 1994 and 1999, but a lifestyle of excess halted things on the stroke of the Millennium.
Reformed and recovered, a refocused Danny Gould brought Clockwork back to Ibiza alongside Andy Manston with a triumphant return in 2014. Ever since the Orange Army has returned every summer for an extended weekend across multiple locations - and it brings its loyal crowd with it.
2023 marks 30 years of Clockwork Orange, so the band is being fired-up - quite literally.
Want to know more? We answer the big questions: when? where? who? why? and how?
When?
Sunday 23 July, 16:00 to 02:00
Clockwork Orange's 2023 Ibiza adventure starts on Wednesday 19 July at Café del Mar and ends on Monday 24 July at Café Mambo. In between, the Orange Army will visit Cova Santa and Es Paradis (both Friday), Tanit Beach Club (Saturday) and even hit the high seas with a convoy of boat parties (Thursday).
The ambitious, festival-sized Clockwork Classical might not be the culmination, but it will certainly be the crowning moment of the six-day adventure.
Where?
Conference and exhibition centre FECOEV Recinto Ferial. Even if you don't recognise the name, you'll no doubt be familiar with the sight. It's the big white building roadside as you approach Ibiza Town.
Operated by Consell Insular d'Eivissa, Recinto Ferial is more accustomed to hosting beer festivals, food fairs and other community events. On 23 July, the venue dips its toes into the world of clubbing for the first time thanks to the mad genius of promoter Danny Gould.
Who?
Decorated conductor Matthew Freeman will lead members of The Royal Philharmonic and London Symphonic Orchestra on the day. Under his overseeing eye, the 30-piece ensemble will recite Ibiza classics and Clockwork Orange favourites.
Matthew might be a name unfamiliar to the clubbing community, but he's not short on experience. Having worked on over 50 albums, including platinum and gold discs, and an extensive list of musicals on London's West End, he has the entertainment industry in his veins.
He's also arranged music for the British Fashion Awards, has been a musical supervisor for the Olivier Awards and has film credits in cinema, including vocal coaching for A-list movie stars such as Drew Barrymore and Keanu Reeves.
On Sunday 23 July he gets to add another feather to an already illustrious cap.
The rehearsals are already well underway and we can't wait to hear the results. Anybody wanting a little preview of the performance should get down to Café del Mar on the Sunset Strip on the evening of 19 July for a very special treat.
Let's not forget the other stars of the show - the always colourful and often long-in-the-tooth Orange Army. This community of greying clubbers don't know how to act their age. They can teach the kids a thing or two about partying, let it not go unsaid!
Why?
For the fence sitters and the swing voters, this might help make up your mind...

- festival-sized crowds and festival-sized production
- a new venue to check out - say you were the first to experience something new on Ibiza
