Farewell to Face Masks: Ibiza finally steps into the post-pandemic era

We can all breathe more easily

After more than three years of stringent restrictions, Ibiza and Formentera are finally stepping into the post-pandemic era after the Spanish Government relaxed the laws governing the wearing of face masks in chemists, dentists and healthcare centres.

Earlier this week, the Spanish Minister of Health, José Miñones, announced that all the exceptional measures put in place to address the C**** 19 pandemic have been repealed. As a result, visitors will no longer have to wear a face mask when entering a pharmacy or a clinic on the island.

Holidaymakers can now interact with pharmacists and healthcare professionals without the barrier of face coverings for a more personal experience, allowing for clearer communication, enabling them to express their health concerns better and receive professional advice specific to their needs.

In addition, the local Balearic law prohibiting smoking on the terraces of bars, restaurants and leisure venues and in public areas such as the street when within two metres of other people has also been repealed.
