Away from the limelight of the better known clubbing hotspots Playa d'en Bossa and San Antonio, San José's Cova Santa still proves to be a bit of an uncovered gem for newer visitors to the island.
That's just one reason that it makes an immense dancefloor to throw underground Tech House and Minimal parties at.
Tech House parties in particular are some of the biggest and fiercest in competition on Ibiza. Yet, figureheads and labels of the electronic underworld see Cova Santa's festival-like dancefloor as ideal for a more intimate day-to-night soireé.
Perhaps it's the serene backdrop or the carefree magical atmosphere that comes with partying off-beat? Dive into the roster of Tech House and Minimal parties in further detail to suss out your next ascent up the hills.
PIV Ibiza | 4 & 18 June, 2 & 16 July, 6 & 20 August and 3 & 17 September
Having first touched down on Ibizan shores in 2022, Amsterdam-born label PIV makes a feverish return to the picturesque dancefloor for bi-monthly dates in 2024.
From its inception, PIV established itself a beacon thanks to label don Prunk and the high-quality output of its roster's Tech House and Minimal productions. Turning the term 'VIP' on its head, PIV parties radiate inclusivity, freedom of expression and the simple ethos of great music.
Line-up: (A-Z) Archie Hamilton, Ben Rau, Cinthie, Demi Requísimo, Dennis Quin, Dimmish, Dr. Banana, Fabe, Gaskin, Janeret, Kellie Allen, Kolter, Lauren Lo Sung, M-High, Robbie Doherty, Prunk
Do Not Sleep | 25 June, 9 July, 13 August, 10 September and 3 October
Starting the summer strong with five dates at Amnesia, Do Not Sleep has switched its sights to Cova Santa for another five dates started from the end of June - once a month in total.
A no-frills concept presented by Ibiza-based agency Electric Ibiza, Do Not Sleep has earned its stripes curating fly tastemakers of the global underground together under one roof. Or, in the case of the mid-season switch-up to Cova Santa, under the stars in the nomadic open-air haven.
Do not sleep on the chance to join these exclusive parties (pun very much intended).
Line-up: (A-Z) Elliot School & Liam Palmer, Gaskin, L.P. Rhythym, Ozzie Guven, Paige Tomlinson, Tom Nolan, more TBA
Eastenderz | 30 July, 27 August, 24 September and 1 October
From the back alleys of London to the hills of San José, Eastenderz enjoys a strange dual existence, yet remains a must-see for Minimal fans irrespective of its location. The brainchild of DJ and producer East End Dubs, the label is a testament to his ear for cutting-edge underground club talents.
Unsurprisingly, as a party series, Eastenderz has amassed a cult following of ravers who look to the brand for a real-time insight of what-s up and coming - just like the record label.
For a night of unpretentious groove-led music, designed to make you move and distributed by the next wave of Minimal talent, look no further. Eastenderz is also one of the few parties at Cova Santa where the low-ceiling club by night is on parity with the outdoor leg.
Line-up: (A-Z) Alisha, Archie Hamilton, Cristi Cons, Dimmish, Dr. Banana, East End Dubs, Elliot Schooling & Liam Palmer, Locklead, Luke Dean, Mahony, Max Dean, Sidney Charles, Wheats
The Zoo Project | 31 May, 25 July and 26 September
Just because The Zoo Project encourages fancy dress and features artistic, often even humorous, performance, that doesn't mean that its music policy is cheesy. If anything, its swings completely the opposite way. Some of the island's best underground DJs play for The Zoo Project.
You will be entertained visually and aurally, with some of the best crate-digging House music combined with such novelties as breakdancing polar bears and mischievous felines. On paper, it sounds like it shouldn't work, yet it's long been one of Ibiza's most fun-filled parties.
Line-up: (A-Z) Armen Miran, Bondi (live), Davina Moss, Defex, Federico Grazzini, Gaya Brisa, Jordan John, Lee Pennington, Milou, Notre Dame, Raphael Scemama, Savage & SHē (hybrid live) and more TBA
Lee Foss presents Repopulate Mars | 13 June
For many, many years Lee Foss and Ibiza were kept at arm's length from one enough - the best part of a decade in fact. However, Lee ended his island exile at Cova Santa in late 2021. Fitting, then, that he should be back in 2024.
We're sure you won't just hear music from Lee's main label project, but also its sub-labels North Of Neptune and South Of Saturn. All three continue to be driving forces in the modern Tech House era.
Line-up: (A-Z) Hannah Wants, Latmun, Lee Foss, Neverdogs, more TBA
Josh Baker presents You&Me | 29 August
A 2024 one-off sees Hide & Seek festival founder Josh Baker bring his You&Me label to Cova Santa for a special showcase. When he's not running marathons or teaching the next generation of bedroom producers the best methods to work their around music production software, the DJ and label owner is turning heads in the clubs.
Without doubt one of the most exciting new talents to emerge in recent years, Josh Baker's party should be firmly on your agenda.
Line-up: Josh Baker, Max Dean, Voigtmann and more
