Pikes keeps lining up irresistible parties

Woo!, Vitalik and Up Grade's fifth birthday are all happening in the next week.

Next week, visitors to Pikes are being spoilt with the musical offerings being presented. We can really feel that summer is right around the corner with the program that been lined up.

Even midweek, things are poppin' off at the famed hotel. The revelry starts with Woo! on 24 May. The Italian outfit invites Tiger & Woods to play its first party of summer. The publicity-averse duo are known for their twist on Nu-Disco and "future boogie" on labels such as Running Back, Permanent Vacation and Pets Recordings.

The night after, it's time to get the balloons out as Up Grade celebrates its fifth birthday in true Pikes fashion.

Leeds-based Buckley, the driving force behind Backtobasics as well as Up Grade, has invited Tristan Da Cunha to headline. One of the most versatile DJs on the underground circuit as both a solo act and as part of Dungeon Meat, Tristan will be making a long overdue Pikes debut.

Adding something a little bit different to the occasion, Yorkshire Hip-Hop artist Burgz is set to perform a live PA.

The bill also includes island residents AM ProjectYass & Mali and Lisa Chadderton for a full-on knees-up poolside, on the Sunset Terrace and ending the night in Freddies.

Then on Friday, Ryan O'Gorman brings his Vitalik imprint back to Pikes to start another summer of parties. Yet again showcasing the finest in underground House, Techno and Acid, Vitalik invites 2vilas, Cami Jones and Danny Beck for the opener.

Of course, weekends are reserved for Saturday's Pikes House Party and Pikes On Sunday with Tales Of The Unexpected.

Balearic heroine Smokin' Jo, Willie Graff, S/A/M, Ruf Dug, David Phillips, Phat Phil Cooper and the Brothers Grim can all be found spinning.

Remember that while admission is free, you must sign-up for guest list for all parties on the Pikes' website in advance. Popular events, especially those happening at the weekend, are likely to be fully subscribed soonest, so your prompt action is recommended.
