With its ultra-cool look combining the best of South Beach Miami and Mediterranean chic and its unbeatable location in front of Marina Botafoch, overlooking the Old Town, Ocean Drive Ibiza is already well-established as one of the island's classiest hotels. This year, however, it's more appealing than ever thanks to a complete renovation over the winter.
The OD Group's architects and OD interior designers have remodelled the hotel, taking their inspiration from different eras ranging from 1930s' Paris to New York, Chicago and Miami at the peak of the Art Deco movement.
With exquisite attention to aesthetic detail, the team has also introduced Art Deco-inspired furniture - think curvy, organic lines - to create a stylish contrast with the building's own architecture. These distinctive new features can be seen, for example, in the reception area and the columns of its renowned OD Sky Bar on the fifth floor. What better way could there be to celebrate this landmark building's 25th anniversary?
Ocean Drive Ibiza is synonymous with electronic music, so it's no surprise that 2023 sees some exciting novelties there, too.
First off is Listening Corner, a new space in the lobby designed with the hotel's many music lovers firmly in mind. Possessing two high-fidelity turntables and a wide selection of records, this cosy, inviting space - replete with comfy sofas and chairs and various headsets that allow electronic music fans to enjoy the sounds together - is the perfect place to discover new tunes, rediscover classics and enjoy an outstanding auditory experience like never before.
Staying on the subject of music, the hotel will offer a monthly event, Analog Explorers, as well as regular events organised by the promoters Fiesta & Bullshit, including their legendary sessions, Hola Sunset, The Age Of Love Ibiza, Exotic Ibiza and Summer Noise. Those who love live music will be delighted to hear that there will be a new edition of OD Live On Tour, the latest in live sounds to the hotel from April through June.
Ocean Drive Ibiza Hotel is famed for its OD Sky Bar, a veritable rendezvous for music industry professionals and party-goers all summer long. Completely renovated, it is now partially roofed and is going to remain open year-round in a move that is guaranteed to be music to the ears of its many fans.
Beyond music, OD Ibiza is also well known for the many special cultural events it hosts. These include monthly art exhibitions and the OD Art Awards - now in its sixth year - a gala competition organised in partnership with the prestigious IbizArt Guide magazine that highlights artistic achievement on the island.
To round off what promises to be a thrilling season at this island institution, we should mention two hugely popular events. The first, Tuesday Temptations, is a new venture featuring delicious dishes and special drinks. The hotel's many keen followers will already be familiar with the second, Burger Meets Gin, which returns for its fortnightly offer of delicious hamburgers accompanied by a wide choice of premium gin and tonics and, needless to add, top-notch sounds from guest artists.
If you haven’t seen the latest renovations, stop by for food and drinks on a big night out in the marina, or better still, make a reservation and wake up to one of the best views on Ibiza.
