Global House juggernaut Defected Records has no end of timeless tracks. As well as a stream of new material, the label frequently delves into its back catalogue to revive past hits and give them a fresh rub for modern dancefloors. Its latest EP is a prime example.
Tensnake's Coma Cat was a defining anthem of 2010, while Jamie Jones' My Paradise dominated the airwaves last summer. Although their original release dates are spaced over a decade apart, they come together to form Defected's newest remix package.
Pieced together by two stars of The Signal, Damian Lazarus and Chloé Caillet, each track has been given a sparkling makeover. You can hear Damian's take on My Paradise below.
This release comes in the middle of a productive streak for both artists.
Chloé Caillet has just released her most recent outing on CircoLoco Records. Last week, she followed up October's NYWTF with Know Now. Meanwhile, Crosstown Rebels head Damian Lazarus is fresh off the back of another remix, this time for Made By Pete's Horizon Red.
The two combine at Hï Ibiza's Opening Party on Saturday 29 April for what's set to be a back-to-back for the ages.
This should give you a snapshot of the music we can expect to hear in The Theatre during their set. That's enough to whet our appetite.
Tickets for the huge double-header, also including The Martinez Brothers b2b Loco Dice, Black Coffee b2b Mochakk, Paco Osuna, Adam Beyer, Honey Dijon, Chris Stussy and more, are on sale now and available below.
