Some romantic ideas to make your stay in Ibiza unforgettable

Ibiza is a paradise for lovers, so here are some suggestions for those who want to romance in style.

Whether you’ve come here to pop the question or simply seek an idyllic setting for a romantic occasion with your loved one, Ibiza has the perfect spot for you.

From breathtaking vistas, hidden coves and midnight strolls through the countryside to romantic experiences you can enjoy as a couple, the island abounds with unique opportunities to bond with your loved one.

Not forgetting all the many romantic restaurants where you can savour a candlelit supper in a superlative setting that is bound to get you in the mood for love.

Naturally, the island’s hotels are also ideal for trysts and Ibiza has quite a few adult-only hotels. Even if you're not staying at the hotel, many offer day packages to use the facilities or you can simply drop in for a sunset drink with your partner.

To help you discover these island treasures – just made for an intimate encounter – we’ve compiled a list of some of our favourites.

Wild at heart

Of the many stunning natural locations just meant for romantic moments, few can compare to that of the islet, Es Vedrà, on the island’s southwest coast. This majestic sight, best viewed at sunset, is the ideal spot to take a blanket and a bottle of wine and immerse yourselves in its pure magic. With such a truly inspiring vista, proposing to your dearest or renewing your vows will come naturally.

The nighttime really is the right time for romance, and what could be better than admiring the island’s beauty while walking through its gorgeous landscapes in the cool evening air? All the while learning about the stars or the moon in its full glory at the hands of an expert.

Organised by Walking Ibiza, "star lady" Etienne runs fascinating, hugely informative star walking excursions and sunset full moon rise walks at different locations each month. Pack a torch and something to lie on and you’re all set for an unforgettable experience beneath Ibiza’s clear night sky.

For younger sporty couples, Balearic Outdoor Adventures offers sunset hikes guided by one of the most knowledgeable guides on the island, Stivi.

And while we’re on the topic of amorous rambles, why not set out along the ancient pilgrim's path that leads up to the pre-historic cave dedicated to the goddess Tanit. The route to Tanit's cave is well signposted and only takes about 30 minutes.

Being in the village of San Vicente, it’s a bit of a drive to get there, but, once there, you’ll be amazed at the sheer unspoiled beauty of this part of the island. A Punic goddess, Tanit represented love, sexuality and fertility. So, modern lovers in search of the ideal spot for a solitary tryst may find this one ticks all the boxes.

Days and nights in white satin

With some of the Mediterranean’s top hotels, Ibiza is also the ideal place if you are looking for a super romantic ambience where passion can bloom. One standout option is Gravity, the superb rooftop bar with awe-inspiring views at the TRS Hotel in San Antonio; made for sipping on a luxurious signature cocktail as you recline on a comfy lounger with your loved one, listening to a live music session or a set by a DJ.

Another stand-out option is the uber-cool, retro-style Hotel Mongibello Ibiza in Siesta, just outside Santa Eulalia. Its expansive terrace with open sea views is just made for lovers!

Just a few kilometres along the east coast from Santa Eulalia, in Cala Nova, BLESS Hotel offers an amazing day pass, allowing you to luxuriate together in its top-notch facilities. Two more top options - divine vistas guaranteed - are the Peruvian fusion food connoisseurs Maymanta - atop deluxe 5-star hotel Aguas de Ibiza, at the end of the flashy Santa Eulalia marina, and the aptly named The View at 7Pines Resort Ibiza, offering cutting-edge Mediterranean cuisine in a truly contemporary setting.

Romance on the rise

Another awesome spot to hang out with your loved one is Nobu Rooftop. Welcoming guests and walk-ins alike, it will open from Thursday to Sunday evenings during June, July, August and September. The hotel plans to host a range of events there such as themed parties, celebrations, sundowner sessions and wellbeing activities. Given its stunning views over the bay and Dalt Vila and upmarket chilled-out ambiance, this is one to keep a close eye on once the schedule is announced closer to the start of the season.

Sensuous Suggestions

Another sure-fire way to pamper one another is to place yourselves in the sure hands of a pair of the island’s top masseurs, Pablo and Victoria Sahade. You can book them to come to your accommodation for a deeply relaxing massage that is guaranteed to reinvigorate your love life. Further suggestions for spa-related treatments can be found on our Mind, Body and Soul on Ibiza page.

Live, Love, Eat

Legend has it that the best way to another’s heart is through the stomach, so we just have to include two of our most romantic restaurants. First off, there’s Las Dos Lunas near San Rafael. With oodles of amatory atmosphere emanating from every corner and hidden nooks for intimate dining, this one is a winner.

The second standout choice in this category is Amante Ibiza, on Sol d'en Serra beach near Cala Llonga, whose full moon dinners are a must.

Take it up a notch even further at Sa Capella just outside San Antonio en route to Santa Agnes. Boasting unforgettable views of the town below and the sunset-tinged mountains beyond, this verdant oasis features honey-coloured walls and rustic touches. Best of all, given that it was a former chapel, if you’re going to propose, then this is unquestionably the best place in Ibiza to do so.
