In the very heart of Ibiza, Santa Gertrudis quietly beats to another rhythm. Its large town square closed off from traffic, is a picture of serenity, with an abundance of bars and restaurants, nestled in the shade provided by the trees which line streets. Time seems to sit still at the famous Bar Costa, enjoying their delicious bocatas and cañas, while watching as the world slowly passes by.

Santa Gertrudis also has some delightful boutiques and galleries, selling locally-crafted art, clothing and souvenirs. It's delightful to stroll around the peaceful streets, where children can roam safely, and take in all these charming rustic sights.

The church, consecrated by Santa Gertrudis, was inaugurated in 1797. It has had several facelifts over the years including its bell tower, added 1899, which the largest of all the churches in Ibiza.
