As we knock on the door of 2024, Ibiza Spotlight presents the cream of Ibiza’s events and activities in January.

It may be the very depth of wintertime in Europe, but January is a month that will bring cheer to anyone fortunate enough to find themselves on Ibiza. Whether it's high culture in the form of ballet, locally created art, games nights, culinary happenings, language exchanges, patron saint festivities, or sporting events, you're sure to find something here for you, your friends and family. So, make your resolution this year to be getting out and enjoying the very best the white island has to offer.

New year's dive at Salinas beach

1 January

Sea’s the moment: New Year's Day Splash on Salinas Beach. Leap into 2024 with all senses tingling with this invigorating swim. Now something of an island institution, this event – organised by Vino&Co – brings 100s of intrepid bathers together for a bracing dip followed by a nice glass of wine.

They kindly ask you to NOT BRING ANY PLASTIC plates, cups or cutlery to the beach! After the swim they always do a beach clean up. Fancy joining? 


Christmas and New Year “ice” skating in Ibiza Town

Until 7 January 2024

Reina Sofia park in Ibiza Town hosts an artificial skating rink over coming weeks. During the festive season, as part of its activities programme, Ibiza Town Council has set up a man-made skating rink.


Swan Lake

Start the year with balletic bliss in the company of the acclaimed International Ballet Company, who will be performing Tchaikovsky’s classic ballet, "Swan Lake” in Santa Eulalia.


Three Kings parades on Ibiza

DiverEspai - children's fun activities in the Recinto Ferial

Every day from 26 December 2023 until 3 January 2024

Diverespai, 5000 sq m of fun-filled frolics for youngsters returns to its usual venue, the Ibiza Exhibition Centre (Recinto Ferial). This year there are inflatables, video and computer games, organised sports and workshops, enough to entertain children of all ages.


Fun Fair in Ibiza Town

Roll up, roll up! It’s that time of year when whirligig wonderland, Ibiza Town Fun Fair is back. With attractions running from roundabouts, a ship swing to auto scooters, raffle booths, and more, this is one fun extravaganza you and the little ones won’t want to miss.

Every day throughout the month

Featuring the eclectic works of local painters and sculptors, the 10th edition of the Supermercat de l'Art will be held at the Garden Art Gallery on the Ibiza Town to San José Road.


SPORTS

January’s cool temperatures are ideal for some gentle outdoor exercise. This month’s highlights include the Nordic Walking Excursion organised by San Antonio Town Hall on 14 January, the Nordic Walk organised by San José Town Hall on 21 January and the 10k Almond blossom night walk on 26 January taking you from San Antonio up to Santa Inés.

For fans of two-wheeled transport, The Patronato de Deportes de Ibiza is running a Guided Biking Tour on 22 January. As numbers are limited to 100 participants, it’s suggested you book early.

Never fear, running enthusiasts: there's plenty of interest for you, too, this month with some classic Ibiza foot races. 

Pujada Puig de Missa - races for children and adults

Aimed at infants, children and adults, the Pujada Puig de Missa is a race to the summit of Puig de Missa, the hill on which the locality’s imposing church is sited. Organised by Santa Eulalia City Council, the event takes place on 21 January.

Just eight days later, on 29 January, the 10K Ibiza - Playa d’en Bossa Race will be held. Open to all, the scenic race is the island’s flattest circuit, making it a favourite on the national scene.
