The best music from Ibiza summer 2019

The soundtrack of the season.

Above all else, we're music lovers first and foremost. It's a prerequisite for becoming a member of our clubbing team.

Just like every year, Ibiza delivered on the music front in 2019. No matter if it was on the dance floor, on the radio or at poolside, the tunes were of the highest order this summer.

From May to October, we collated our favourite tracks, keeping a record of the most played and our personal favourites. Now we're ready to share them with the world.

Handily, we've chosen New Year's Eve as the day to publish the playlist. Whether you're headed out or partying at home, our extensive selection makes the ideal soundtrack to get ready to or dance the night away.

Spotify users can head straight here to listen to the full playlist. Continue reading to find our individual picks.

Maceo Plex | When The Lights Are Out | Ellum Audio

"Maceo Plex's When the Lights Are Out was a pretty unanimous choice amongst the team. For me personally, there's isn't one single memory, but many. It always found its way into the seemingly mundane day-to-day moments during my time on the island.

Playing in the background whilst on road trips or us mimicking it's vocal whilst getting ready for a night out - the list goes on. Not forgetting moments on the dance floor. All these small memories come flooding back to me as soon as I hear that droning bass intro that makes this tune special."

- Jo Dargie, clubbing intern

Ryan Murgatroyd | Wicked Eyes (Ryan Murgatroyd & Kostakis Disco Cowboy Remix) | Swoon Recordings

"Twice I heard this track played out - and both during two of the standout sets of the season. The first play was by Adrian Shala of Adriatique. It came during the peak of his unbelievable club room appearance at Diynamic's Pyramid takeover at Amnesia.

I had to wait until the very last party of summer to hear it again, this time by Diynamic boss Solomun at his +1 Pacha closing. I could listen to it on repeat now, but it's only done real justice when played on one of the island's top sound systems.

When we got back from the party, we put it on a loop and must have listened to it about 20 times over. Such a powerful track. There were other contenders, but none had me walking away from a party having resonated so much."

- Stephen Hunt, staff writer

Lil' Yachty feat. Lil' Baby | YSL (The Martinez Brothers Re-Edit)

"Becoming one of my summer defining tracks, this playful tune gifted by The Martinez Brothers had my heart before I even arrived to the island. It would go on to become a DC10 anthem and a staple of their Ibiza sets.

Plus, we managed to annoy the older members of the team with our incessant playing of it in the office, making it all the sweeter!"

- Sasha Wharton, clubbing intern

Rebūke |Along Came Polly | Hot Creations

"Many of our tracks of the summer were mutual picks, so I've chosen something a bit different. Towards the start of the season I went to ANTS regularly and each week this sinister banger was slotted into sets by the likes of Andrea Oliva. It soon became a party anthem.

Intermittent creepy bleeps and continuous rattle are trademarks of Rebūke. Along Came Polly is no exception. It reminds me of the start of the season when everything was new. Summer seemed to stretch out in front of us forever. I blinked and it was October.

I'd do anything to be hearing this for the first time again."

- Hannah Starkie, clubbing intern

Roberto Surace | Joys | Defected Records

Love it or hate it, no 2019 list could be complete without a respectful mention of Roberto Surace's monster hit. It really was everywhere and right from the word "go." Like Pick Up and Neutron Dance the summer before, it was the runaway hit and infiltrated parties on every tier.

Still waiting for the (superior) Nic Fanciulli remix to get an official release though. Please.

Soon we'll be getting our ears around the fantastic music that 2020 has to offer, but before then tuck into the best music from Ibiza 2019.
