How to do RESISTANCE closing party properly

From the airwaves to the Sunset Strip to the world’s largest club.

Following another techno-tastic summer, RESISTANCE Ibiza's ninth and final party is now locked on radar.

Nine weeks have flown by. In that time, we've seen Privilege buckle under the strain of the capacity crowd for Coxy's birthday, Drumcode's return and Richie Hawtin's Model 1 ambassadors PLAYdifferently.

One tantalising date remains - the epic closing party on Tuesday 17 September. Unsurprisingly, RESISTANCE has called upon its biggest stars for the 2019 farewell.

Reunited in the booth - Carl Cox and Adam Beyer are set to lock horns again

Carl Cox and Adam Beyer - who both had the pick of dates with four headline appearances each - finally share a party together. Solo sets and an enthralling back-to-back await. The clash of the techno titans round II. Is this club big enough for the both of ‘em?

They're joined in the cavernous main room by Sasha & John Digweed - back after taking charge of Vista Club for their last two dates.

In the terrace, residents Charlotte de Witte and Hot Since 82 are joined by Deborah De Luca and Luigi Madonna. There's even room for a cameo from legendary duo Layo & Bushwacka.

One last party, means it's all or nothing - this isn't one for the faint of heart. To get the absolute most of RESISTANCE closing, here's our guide on how to tackle the day. It's partying around the clock with the underground Ultra crew.

Andres Campo takes over at the Sonica radio studio suite

19:00 | Poolside, seaside or in the taxi

RESISTANCE takes over the airwaves on Ibiza Sonica Radio for an entire hour from 19:00. Consider this your warm-up. After a long afternoon of relaxing by the pool or reclining on the beach, you can shift through the gears into party mode.

Make sure you bring your headphones, have your speaker charged up or request that your driver tunes the radio to 97.8 FM. Whether you're soaking-up the last hour of rays or on your way to the Sunset Strip, pumping tunes are incoming.

Previous guest hosts have included Marco Bailey, Popof and Enrico Sangiuliano.

Last remnants of daylight with Ken Fan at Café del Mar

20:00 | Pre-party at Café del Mar

Next port of call is the legendary Sunset Strip. By now, you should be getting those tingles. If not, there's no better place than Café del Mar to absorb the energy, as day changes to night.

Expect a revered selector to soundtrack the sunset itself, such as Mr Doris or resident Ken Fan. Then, as darkness consumes and the tempo increases, you'll be placed into the hands of one of techno's finest. Keep an eye out for those sexy cyborgs from the future too.

Vista club - full and going off

23:00 | Arrive in Vista club

We've reached that time in the season when sunset happens quite early (20:00 on this date). We can use this to our advantage, as it means more time to return to the hotel to freshen-up before moving onto the club.

Early arrival in Vista is essential. Firstly, you avoid the worst of those queues (there will be queues). Secondly, you get to see the night build and catch breakthrough talent in the process. Luigi Madonna is no novice, but he is starting to get the recognition he deserves.

Get involved in the centre - jaw-dropping production

06:45 | Last man standing

Where did the last seven hours go? Okay, we skipped a big chunk of the night, but for good reason - this part speaks for itself. You'll be stomping and fist-pumping away to the delights of the biggest names in underground dance music.

Like we always say, time flies when you're having fun. Only true techno warriors can last until the bitter end. You want to be there when the lights come up and the hardcore contingent embrace, knowing you saw RESISTANCE's last hurrah out to the close.

Nicole knows - at the Afters

09:00 | Bonus stage | Villa afters

Have you got what it takes to advance to the top tier and join the clubbing elite? The challenge - if you choose to accept it - is to blag your way into the villa afterparty. Official or unofficial, you get our respect either way.

With Coxy owning a villa on the island and Adam Beyer living here too, your odds are good. I mean, not great, but there's a chance. A very slim chance. A fraction of hope. Oh, you'll have no chance (visual evidence is a requirement for all claimants).

Join the resistance on 17 September for one last techno marathon on Ibiza 2019. The full line-up can be viewed below, where you will also find tickets.
