Enjoy San Antonio's dazzling 2019 firework display

Get in line this Saturday 24 August.

Head to San Antonio this Saturday 24 August as it holds the annual Sant Bartomeu fireworks, display, part of a month-and-a-half-long calendar of fiesta celebrations for the town's Patron Saint.

Saturday's midnight illuminations are widely regarded as the pinnacle of these celebrations, with the full programme running all the way until 22 September.

For an idea of how spectacular the display will be, the organisers have organised the use of 350 kilos of gunpowder!

Should you be out and about during the day, then anybody who books an activity with Ibiza Watersports for the same day from 10:00 to 20:00 will get a 10% discount to celebrate.

Where is the best place to position yourself for the midnight fireworks? You can watch the display directly from San Antonio's main tree-lined promenade and join in the fun with the crowds, getting incredible, unobstructed views.

If you prefer to see the illuminations in comfort, with food and drink, here's some ideas on how to combine the two.

Rio Ibiza, in the harbour area, has several menu options to choose from, featuring great staters and meat mains. There's a tasty €50 'Copacabana' menu or the upgrade to the €70 'Ipanema' menu and get a Porn Star martini, choice of a T-Bone steak and a glass of Moët & Chandon champagne.

Nearby Villa Mercedes will have Ibiza Global Radio's legendary DJ Buda spinning throughout the evening, well worth checking out if you've not seen him play before.

Across the bay, Surf Lounge Ibiza's outside area offers fun as well as healthy food and drink options whilst nearby Marina Playa's terrace Aperture is a great elevated spot to enjoy the light show and has live music and a special DJ set from 8 pm onwards.

Stylish waterfront restaurant Es Nautic is also offering a special San Bartomeu set menu for the night, which includes a cocktail, aperitif and a three-course meal whose star is the main of citrus turbot. All this for just €58 per person.

Unsurprisingly, the Sant Bartomeu display is a very busy night for San Antonio attracting both tourists and locals alike. Booking for any of the above venue options is essential.

Wherever you choose to see the display, we hope you enjoy a dizzyingly dazzling spectacle!
